Pork Cutlets in Creamy Garlic and Mushroom Sauce

An easy restaurant style recipe, made at home under 30 minutes and in one pan! Pork cutlets are very lean, tender and flavoursome. They extract an amazing flavour when simply caramelised using butter and oil.

For the sauce, you can use button mushrooms or mushroom assortment as I did in this recipe. Even dried soaked mushrooms work well for this.

To cook the pork, you need to first sear the cutlets using a hot frying pan, this helps render that nice caramelisation, that’s where all the flavour is. Then turn heat to low and cook through. Move them around so nothing burns in the pan.

Pork is usually cooked well done, but if you trust your butcher or where your meat comes from, it’s more acceptable these days to cook it medium or medium well, so it’s pink inside. Many restaurants now even serve it medium rare. If you have any doubts, then cook it well done. Enjoy my Pork Cutlets in Mushroom and Garlic Sauce today, then give your dog a bone!

  1. No offense. I have been a butcher and a manager for over 18yrs. Those are pork chops that have been frenched. Meaning nothing but the bone showing. Cutlets are the rib end pork chops tenderized mechanically or by hand.

  2. Hi Chef, I just saw this recipe, and I'm getting ready to give it a try. I would love to know what you would suggest as side dishes for this recipe. I try to stay away from carbs, but my family doesn't. I suggested garlic smashed baby Yukon Gold potatoes and a sweet and sour slaw, but they are asking for plain old mashed potatoes and roasted baby carrots. Not sure if there are any low carb sides that would pair well with it. Loving you videos so far, thank you. Any suggestions would be truly appreciated.

  3. Geez Joel, I’ve got to get to (Australia is it?) and camp out on your front yard until you feed me. Seriously Chef, I’ve been cooking for 35 years (ham & egger) and I can’t cook like that. You are some kind of good bro and I really mean that. 👏👏👏👏👏
