A lot of the time I see green smoothie recipes that require too many ingredients. And the truth of the matter is, I’m not always going to have cucumbers, lemons, chia seeds, bee pollen, and ginger on hand. If you just hopped on the healthy bandwagon, starting small is less overwhelming! This recipe takes me less than 5 minutes! So, here’s my extremely easy, 3-ingredient green smoothie! It’s technically four ingredients, but who doesn’t have water on hand… YA NEED IT TO LIVE!

EASY 3-INGREDIENT GREEN SMOOTHIE:

1 overripe banana — I know some of you throw out bananas as soon as it isn’t picture perfect, but an overripe banana is best. The more freckles the better in this case!
8 oz. water — If you want your smoothie to have the consistency of juice, just add more water. If you want a thicker smoothie, just add enough water for it to blend well.
~1 cup of frozen mango chunks — There’s no real measurement! I just stuck my hand in a bag of frozen mangoes and that was enough, soo… A handful! The frozen mangoes will be our “ice” but providing flavor and adds another fruit to your diet!
~1 cup of kale — Again, there’s no real measurement for this one. You can even use other greens like spinach or chard. I just like kale because it isn’t as bitter. I actually stuff as much kale as I can into my container because I find that it really doesn’t affect the taste.

Blend it up, and you are done! It’s sweet and refreshing!

BTW: When I do find the taste of kale a little overwhelming, I add a few more chunks of mango! ENJOY!
