@eateastIndian You could definitly do this in a pressure cooker – though I'm not sure exactly how long it would take – I know that it would be considerably less time 🙂
Wow, looks delicious..Do i make it in crockpot only or can i use another cooking utensil like say pressure cooker? How long do u think it will take in pressure cooker?
How about hoison sauce instead of thick soy sauce? Despite hitting two Asian markets in my area, one of which is huge like an American Safeway, I have not found thick soy sauce. Fish sauce, hoison sauce (including Koon Chun), soy sauce, vegatable soy sauce, dark soy sauce and what seems like endless variations of soy sauce (none of them thick) I can't seem to find it.
@schweetheartmonkee These are not the same thing. Thick soy sauce has added molasses and the soy paste is just a yellow soy bean paste. The thick soy sauce can usually be found in most Asian grocery stores. I use the Koon Chun brand 🙂
Sounds fantastic. I would find the thick soy sauce in an Asian market next to the regular? When you get an unusual ingredient like that it would be helpful if you show the bottle and label. Then I'd have a little bit better idea what I'm looking for. This sounds like a great dinner when its cold outside. thanks.

@AsianCookingmadeEasy Hit a third Asian market today, no thick soy sauce. So thanks with the substitute. Molasses I have.
@Atochabsh For this recipe you can substitue the thick soy sauce with 1 tbsp of regular soy sauce and 1 tbsp of molasses 🙂
@Salinna79 Thank you – I'm trying to make these vids a bit more professional 🙂
