This was delicious, along with the gravy. I also used the roast potato recipe you have on here, which were great too – crispy and fluffy π
The little bit olf rosemary left bugs me π
This is the best roast leg of pork I have ever made. We added the apple. Absolutely delicious! Thank you John.
I haven't had this in over a decade, & I have a pork butt ready to go for tomorrow, going to give it a coat of salt & pepper overnight. I think it is the gravy I'll enjoy more with mashed potatoes, love pork gravy, & lamb gravy too, (not mixed) w/ mashed. Thank you!
Roast in the ovan. Can''t wait to eat it!ππ€€

Thanks
Danny
Hi John first of the pork was to die for the whole family loved it
I've never been a fan of pork for some reason whenever my wife cooked it it never tasted right and it also smelt a bit funny to me
But I cooked this and now my wife knows how to cook it she said it was the best pork crackling she's ever had.
I think my oven is running I bit hot as all the fluid evaporated pretty quick so I've just purchased an internal temp gauge.
Keep trying your recipes and not had a bad one yet
(well I did but that was my to fault to much onion in the burgers)
And as I type this my kids want me to cook it again next weekend.
Thanks and a thumbs up from me π
This is the second recipe of yours that I've followed with perfect results the other was savoury mince and dumplings.so simple when explained properly and with no faffing about, brilliantπ
Thanks a lot, chef! I wil be apply your recipe in 20 minutes!
Hi John, doing your roast pork again for the third year. Merry Christmas to you and your family π²
How do i make this and yorkies and roasties AND stuffing with all the different oven timings – yes, I have a pathetic basic oven with only two shelves. I often use the hotter [fast cook] temps for meats to accomodate the 'extras', but I really like the look of this slow recipe.

Mmmm . . My favorite for making sandwich after dinner. Sandwich, singular because that is usually all that is left since I usually cook roast for a company dinner.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts! I was thinking apples would be a good match here.
Looks good, just my two pence but Iβd suggest adding the water to the roasting tray after getting your crackling crisp.
Now i'm hungry π
Looks lovely John my fav meat is pork thanks John xxxπππ
I love your videos thank you
John can you provide a link to where you get your roasting pans etc?
Out of interest, is there a reason this wasnβt cooked on a trivet in the same way you cook roast beef?
John, that looks delicious. Im having a go at cooking a joint today with your instructions as my nanna used to be in service in 30s and 40s and her cooking was just like yours. I grew up on it in 60s but could never replicate it however much I tried and it beats all these modern recipes in my view. Good cooks are born not trained. Love the great videos ππ₯π₯π₯¦π₯©
