Great recipe, the only thing is, here in the UK the smell/flavour of root beer is identical to a very popular anti-septic cream called Germoline, so to us brits that would taste really weird.
Watching the guy skewer the meat, and the way he just slams the meat onto those skewers, you boys sure do play fast and loose with safety in the kitchen.
Those skewers are like tent stakes.

Won’t it be hard for anything to penetrate the meat when it’s coated with an oil. The marinade won’t be able to penetrate through the skin.
