This simple BBQ Baked Beans summertime staple comes together with minimal effort, relying on the slow cooker to do the work. Utilizing dried beans, this side dish packs more flavor and texture than a canned alternative. INGREDIENTS
– 16 oz dried pinto beans
– water to cover
– 1 medium yellow onion, diced
– 1 cup ketchup (sugar-free preferred)
– 1/3 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
– 1/2 cup molasses
– 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
– 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– 2 tbsp prepared yellow mustard
– 2 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
– 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
– 2 tsp kosher salt
– 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
– 1 tbsp hot sauce (like sriracha)
INSTRUCTIONS
– Soak the beans. Add the beans to a large bowl (or the slow cooker), and add enough water to cover the beans by two inches. Place the bowl in the refrigerator and soak the beans for 6-8 hours.
– Cook the beans. Drain the soaking liquid. Add the beans to a 4-6 quart slow-cooker and cover the beans with two inches of water. Set the cooker to high and cook until the beans are tender, 3-4 hours. If using the low setting, the beans will take 4-5 hours.
– Prepare the sauce. Drain the beans and return them to the slow cooker. Add the diced onion, ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, prepared mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and hot sauce. Stir to combine.
Cook the beans. Stirring occasionally until the sauce is thickened slightly, cook for 2-3 hours on high or 3-4 hours on low.

From my farm to your home. 🏡
My name is Kaleb Wyse and here, you will find delicious recipes, videos from my farm, garden, and fun home projects. My knowledge has been earned from years of home cooks and farmers in my family.
A farm is much more than a house to live in; it’s a lifestyle. My passion for gardening and landscaping came from outdoor work with my mom in our expansive farm yard, my love for baking came from innumerable short walks to my grandma’s house to make cookies, and as a farmer, my dad taught me that we are the stewards of our land.
So whether you live in a city center or have decided rural life is for you, I hope to inspire you with the projects and recipes I use in daily life. We can’t all live on a farm, but we all need farms in our lives. From the dirt in my vegetable garden to the flour in my kitchen, I’ll show you everything I love to do.

Looking forward to making this. Thanks for sharing ❤️
Hey Caleb…how has your weather been? Hearing horror stories about Iowa weather. Beans sound comforting if indeed your having some inclement weather.
I’m sure it tastes wonderful but I like my baked beans a bit more saucy…
These look a bit dry to me.
The kindest soul. I love your videos Kaleb!!
Sliced weiners and a dollop of sour cream would send those beans over the top.
This looks delicious and will go great with hot dogs thank you Kaleb.
🥰✅👍
I love your recipes! Everything we've made of yours has turned out great. This one looks delicious and very smart to use the dried beans. Thank you! PS Could you post a link to that fab' crock pot?
The next time I make baked beans, I'm using this recipe. I have only used canned beans but looking forward to trying this.
You’re adorable and I love your recipes!! Learning so much from you and it’s so fun to put love into my dishes! Thank you! I needed this recipe today! But…how come no bacon 🥓?? I live in the south so maybe it’s a southern thing 😉 Anyway, AWESOME recipe!! Got beans soaking now!
I agree. Dried veins are the way to go. I mske mine pretty much like you, but I add crumbled crisp fried bacon on the top right before serving.
Looks delicious! Definitely going to try this.
They look awesome!
I don’t have a crockpot kaleb but these sound delicious 😊❤️
Me: I MUST have that crockpot <scours Amazon> Still can't find it. <checks Wiliams-Sonoma> Oh.
I’m going to try this. You always make it look so easy. I like the ingredients you use. Thank you for posting the recipe below the video. I’m wondering if you would share your cookware and things you use? Thank you
You explain your recipe steps so well…Thank you and Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Smell-O-Vision was already invented in the 1950s. The biggest problem (aside from the smells being a bit of a distraction) was that once you release a scent into the air, it will tend to linger, which isn’t necessarily desirable if your goal is a progression of smells. That’s why it never caught on. A cookbook with scratch’n’sniff stickers, though? Potentially not a horrible idea.
Tasty and easy❤
Ok so……………why is the crock pot so gorgeous??? I need one of those.
What brand of crockpot did you use? Printing out the recipe right now.
Love this channel ❤ you are a great teacher.
I have a crock pot. I have all the ingredients. Why did I buy canned beans? I have clean water too. I'm making these tomorrow. Thank you Kaleb for another great recipe that isn't hard. Anna from Arkansas.
