* 3 cups (15 oz/426 g) all-purpose flour
* 2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
* 1¾ teaspoons salt
* ⅔ cup (5 fl oz/160 ml) whole milk, lukewarm
* ⅔ cup (5 fl oz/160 ml) water, lukewarm

Topping:
* 2 tablespoons milk (for brushing)
* 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for dusting)

  1. Thank you for this simple recipe which is a very tasty roll. Being fat free the milk fat doesn’t quite build enough rich flavor for us. We use the same recipe but with butter and lard and only water. Going to try your 50/50 water/milk with ours and see how that turns out. Thanks again.

  2. I don't like a milk or egg wash on top of baps, so can i leave this out? Also if I cook them at a lower temperature will they be softer? The recipe I always use for Scottish Baps is 150C for 16mins using bread flour & they are really good, but bread flour is much more expensive so I'd like to try these

  3. My wife is from the Philippines and they also have a morning roll called Pandesal. It's similar to your recipe with a few more ingredients, namely Butter and Sugar. I have perfected this recipe over the years and all her Filippino friends want my Pandesal. I would be happy to share it with anyone who is interested.
