  1. My dad taught me was how to prepare neck bones. I'm 35 and make em at least twice a month. After cleaning them I take a Tablespoon of better than bouillon garlic base and stir it into the water. Season, add the onion and after a half hour add black eyed peas. At the 2 hr mark I remove the meat and make a rue (cornstarch/flour) mix to thicken the juice into a gravy (must be careful not to over thicken). I like em hot out the pot over my bed of basmati rice topped with Frank's red and a side of corn bread. Have a good sleep after that 😪. Great video.

  2. I made these last night and I just have to say…DELICIOUS!!!…. I tweaked it a bit. I have no slow cooker, so I baked in the oven at 325 for an hour and a half. I added potatoes during the last hour. I didn't have chicken broth so just used water. -Also added some extra spices: turmeric, ginger, more garlic. It was so good! I bought some more pork necks today! Thank you for your recipe and the inspiration.

  3. I love iheart recipes!!! Why does it look darker after you take them out? they look delicious. because of you i add parsley to 90% of my meals lol. makes it look so pretty. Im headed in the house to clean and season my meat then let it sit and fake marinate for a few hours.

  5. I fixed this last night with smoked pork neck bones and it was really good. The only thing I would change is not to put the cornstarch in until you defat the broth. ours was really fatty so the gravy wasn't as enjoyable. Other than that little detail it was really good, even my young kids enjoyed it and have asked me to make it again

  6. My Sweetie helped kill and process hogs with a friend. Free meat !! 😁 The Roast pork butts ribs and chops I knew how to cook and serve..but he came home with a mess of pork backs too. You just gave me my first recipe. Going to do some fresh collards with it and because I'm diabetic I'll switch out that yummy rice for cauliflower rice. I'm going to be one happy gal. Thank you for sharing!!
