After leaving the fish in the salt water for a day, move them to another holding cell, placing a press made of wood on top of the stacked up fish in order to compress the air out of the fish to prevent it from going bad. Leave for 3 days. After 3 days, take a fish needle and string up a bundle of 10 fish to be hung out to dry for 5 days. After the fish is dried, peel and package it.

🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I’m a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

Faldela is such a superpower!
I ❤❤❤❤
Damn, so many people in this comment section moaning, being offended and coping hard, crazy.
Theire is coloureds in the northen cape too
come to mitchells plain, cape town, south africa.. youll get all the couloreds
The best description of a coloured person:
I'm not black
I'm not white
I'm in-between
Colored descendants of white overlords (rapist)
A huge seafood lovers dream
I worked as a scuba instructor in South Africa for many years.
Crayfish and avocado on the beach was a cheap meal when we were broke.
When sailors came to Africa they needed prostitutes. All over africa's coast you will see the descendents of those prostitutes and foreign sailors. Fascinating history.
So Europeans showed ppl in south africa how to put salt on fish and dry it out man if you dont stop it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 the history book need to be reviewed and updated bc Europeans get to much credit for things. Africans being drying out food for 100s of thousands of years
You should change your caption, it's "coloured" not "colored'" !!!!!!! "Colored" is American and refers to black people and is considered derogatory. "Coloured" is a South African race group and not derogatory.
My people!!!!!!!
In fact, there is another category Indian which is divided in Christian Hindu and Muslim with different cuisines.
Would like to arrange n meeting with Tracy and members to Prepare for us Seafood meals
It's sad to see that there's no videos our Indian foods
economic and political troubles of South Africa cannot ruin its beauty and character.
So-called Coloured ain't in between as the sister claimed but it is a derogatory racist classification for people who descent from the Khoikhoi and the San, the aboriginal people of South Africa. That sister and a helluva lot of bro's and sisters need to be educated.
“Black people eat Pap” is crazy 😂 but also on brand from my coloured brothers and sisters in the Cape.
That woman is talking rubbish about “being coloured” and being in between…. Rubbish man….
They learn all that see food cooking from the boere
Please refrain from saying that the Europeans settled South Africa! That is a big lie! Only Europeans proclaimed it. Africans were already there, and they had thriving civilized regions, values, and traditions. All they did was colonize, and pilfer, prevaricate, maime, kill them, rape, etc. They succeed in divisiveness demeanor between the Black and so called Colored people. They can't see their power and worth! Europeans never settled America either; Indigenous and Africans were there first, too!
May I ask, does the cameraman get to eat some?
Really good
Side note…coloured people are originally descendants from the bushman. The San and Khoi people. Who later became Khoisan.
There was a Khoisan woman called Sarah or Sartjie Bartman. She was one of the first woman to mix (entangle) with the European settlers.
But these days coloureds have various ethnic groups mixed in their genes. But originally it was European and Khoisan.
Also the Bushman are the indigenous people of South Africa. Everyone else came from somewhere else. Either by sea or by land (mid Africa).
Khoisan have become the minority in South Africa though. If you look at the city called KwaZulu-Natal. It's named for the great Zulu chief Chaka Zulu and his people who fought great battles there.
There are cave paintings though that prove the first people who lived there are the Bushman not the Zulu people. The Bushman needs more recognition in this land.
Great video though…
What about south african indian cousine
i want to go and stay there. I want to meet those 2 color people too. Love the video
snoek is my favorite fish … so delish.
I need to add – not all coloureds, eat like Cape Coloureds, the rest of them in the country would eat similar foods to the ethnic groups based in each province and can speak the native language of that province too.
For example in Kwa zulu natal (east of South Africa) – some coloureds there eat tripe (USA people: Chitlins) and pap (USA people: white Grits)
Sunny drinking a zamalek Black Label makes me happy
do a food review about the colored people back in the US
