A comforting classic, this easy Southern Smothered Chicken features fall-off-the-bone chicken thighs in a savory skillet gravy, seasoned to perfection.

1 1/2 pound chicken
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon, garlic powder
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 tablespoon chicken bouillon
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 yellow onion
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
4 tablespoon. All purpose flour
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 cup shredded celery
1 cup shredded green bell pepper
3 cup chicken broth
4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  1. Honestly the amount of seasonings you added looked about right. Go bold or don't go at all( kinds sounds like something Yoda would say,my bad 😁) Anyway, I do have a suggestion to ease up the cooking. After you sear the chicken but before you add your next ingredients pour a little of that chicken stock in the skillet to de glaze it. Myself I might actually pour in a little sweet white wine to speed up the de glazing and add a little bit extra flavor ( after all we do like flavor 😋) but this is a really great looking and easy to do weeknight cook. Great video, keep up the great work and have a wonderful holiday 🎄😁👍

  2. You sure your not from south Louisiana!! That’s exactly how we cook, I mean you got the seasonings and the Trinity going then you add the Pope (garlic). I love watching your videos because your cooking is so close to ours, good stuff ❤❤
