Spicy Pomfret Fry – Bored of the regular simple pomfret fry?

In this video, we explore a delicious Pomfret fry recipe that adds a unique twist to the traditional dish. The key is a freshly ground spice mix that includes coriander, cumin, fennel, and dry red chilies, which is then used to marinate the fish before frying in mustard oil for best flavor.

Ingredients:
– 250-300gm Pomfret – 3pcs
– For masala mix – 1.5 tsp coriander seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds , 1/2 tsp fennel seeds , 2-3 dey red chillis
– For the paste: Handful of coriander leaves with stem, 8-9 garlic cloves , 3-4 green chillis and 3 tbsp chilled water
– For marination : 1/2 tsp salt , 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 2 tbsp besan

Cooking:
– Make slits on each side on the fish
– Dry roast whole spices. Cool to a room temperature and grind to a fine powder
– Add coriander leaves, garlic , green chilli and chilled water in the same jar and make a thick paste
– With rest of the ingredients and the spice paste marinate and the fish for 30 min
– Over a medium hot flame , fry each side for 3-4 minutes
– Add remaining marination on top and splash oil to get a good coating
– Enjoyyyyy
