  1. my family loved this! I didn't have pork belly on hand…only pork tenderloin. I sliced it as thin as possible…& also added 1 tbsp of mirin (b/c my kids like it on the sweeter side to balance the spice ha ha). I did have to cook the meat a bit longer b/c it wasn't p.belly but this was super easy and wonderful on taste! will be in my family's favorites now!

  2. Finally someone who doesn’t use a rice cooker to cook delicious rice. Don’t get me wrong, I own one, but it’s nice on a show to see that a cook has skills when they’re cooking rice the old fashion good old way.

  3. I’m so looking forward to making this! My area in Australia doesn’t have Korean green chilli peppers but I’ve read one of your recipes on your website saying that jalapeños are a good substitute so I’ll definitely go with that. 😁

  4. Hello Maangchi, the last time I wrote, I was making kimchi in Odessa, Ukraine, where I live. Wasn't easy getting the ingredients, but there's a fantastic market called Privoz, which has an Asian section and I managed to get hold of a big bag of tower bell chilli flakes, which made the most fantastic kimchi (following your wonderful recipe)! 🙂 With everything that is happening in Ukraine, cooking has become my release. It was always my passion, but recently it has become more important as a way of escaping. Thank you for your videos and your wonderful recipes! I managed to find pork shoulder yesterday and this recipe was a hit! My Ukrainian wife found it a little spicy (hehe!), but for me it really hit the spot! Thank you again and I hope to be able to cook more of your recipes in the future!
