One thing I noticed and spider grills confirms is that you will get less temps swings without the basket.
I like my Fireboard because it detects when the lid is off automatically and doesn’t start back for a certain set time.
I'll watch my grill and put that $200 towards some fine ribeye steaks.
Awesome set up!
Yum! ❤
I have the Masterbuilt Gravity 800 that I replaced my WSM and Performer with. I really like the MB800 but if it ever goes I would replace it with this setup.
I have a Weber Premium grill with the propane starter and I bought a Venom. I was wondering if you could give me any tips on installing the Venom. Thank you, enjoyed your video. Russell Thiel

Here is my Weber Stainless grill cart / WSM mashup.
Yea it’s a Weber Smokey mountain and it’s on a stainless Weber grill cart.

I have the same stainless steel grill and cart except mine is black. What I did was remove the lid and place a Weber Smokey Mountain 22 on top. It fits right over the kettle bottom. This gives the WSM an ash catcher/cleaner and a nice table!
Does the venom live outside ? Do you have to remove it after each cook? (How easy is that?)
Do you know what diameter the power plug that goes into the Venom? Maybe 5.5 mm? And what is the voltage on the power supply? 12v? I'm asking because I'm looking to buy a power bank to power the venom and my weber rotisserie kit. Thanks!
I had to replace my controller as it was damaged due to the heat from the kettle. The controller would not connect to WIFI or the app and the temperature readings were off. Venom sent me a replacement and I noticed when installing the new controller, the plastics were deformed from the heat which I am sure impacted the PCB components inside the controller. I ended up putting two sheets of aluminum foil between the controller and the kettle to isolate the heat and I also make sure to put the charcoal on the opposite side of the controller in the kettle. I do like how efficient it is and the temperature stability.
Low and slow always works best. Simply deliciousness.
