  1. Had a 560 for 3 years and it’s held up so far, hard to beat it for the price. This is a stupid comparison and not really fair to compare it to smokers that cost twice as much. I would gladly shell out more money for a similar, easy to use, but higher end charcoal gravity smoker.

  2. 100% agree with the comment of being in the smoke all day impacts your first taste. I have sampled after a cook and thought, "not very smokey". Next day after a night's sleep and my opinion changed to "nailed it".

  3. I would agree that Masterbuilt has issues with longevity. I’ve replaced my manifold twice now in three years. And all of the switches at least once.. The firebox is degrading rapidly. And the internal components are also degrading rapidly. However, the smoker produces some darn good barbecue when it works.😂

  4. With all the videos of mods and extra care you have to give the masterbuilt. I went with the woodwind pro, can’t wait to pick it up. When I have more room I’ll be in the market for a decent offset.

  5. The Masterbuilt isn't built for British climate in my experience. My entire 800 unit is rusting from ever pore, just had all the 'stainless steel' exterior parts replaced under warranty. Also the control unit failed. I've probably had 10 cooks on it, it uses SO MUCH charcoal. I bought a bone-in brisket point from the local butcher. local organic beef. It cost £60. The charcoal i needed to cook it was over 50% of the cost of the beef. Madness.
The materials used are poor and very difficult to keep clean. Once ive replaced all the parts and its looking slightly better I'm going to sell and find something else that's built better. Such a shame as in the Summer it is fantastic and I made my best ribs and chicken wings ever. But i dont think it wall last another winter so need to get rid

  6. Great video!

I’d love to see the Masterbuilt go against pellet smokers in a Grill-Off. Like actually higher heat, grilling, then see what tastes better.
I love doing beef ribs hot n fast, either rotisserie over charcoal direct, or in one of my Pellet Smokers, and my small Traeger seems to produce the best tasting result, based on what folks tell me..

So that’d be nice to see how the MB would fare

  7. Had my GMG for over 4 years now. Absolutely zero issues. Liked it so much, bought a 2nd one for our RV. Again, rock solid. More importantly, great food. And yes, cooked on an offset too. Great food as well, but way too much work.
