Steak and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Ingredients:
– 360g steak, thinly sliced
– 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
– 1 shallot, thinly sliced
– 4 garlic cloves, minced
– Salt, to taste
– Pepper, to taste
– 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
– 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
– 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
– 50ml water (mix with cornstarch)

Instructions:
1. Cut and wash the broccoli, set aside. Slice the steak, set aside.
2. Fry the steak until half-cooked, season with salt and pepper, then set aside.
3. In the same pan, sauté shallot and garlic until fragrant. Add broccoli, season, and stir-fry for a few minutes until tender.
4. Add the steak back in, mix well, and cook for another minute.
5. Pour in the cornstarch mixture, stir until the sauce thickens. Serve hot.

  1. a tip to tenderise the beef – u should velvet it beforehand. frying it directly like that will make the beef rubbery. velveting is a chinese cooking technique to tenderise whatever meat is being used for a stir fry.

    add corn starch, baking powder and whatever seasoning u like to ur beef then let it marinate for awhile before stir frying. 😊
