STRAWBERRY PRETZEL DESSERT INGREDIENTS:

►2 cups boiling water
►2 cups salted pretzels (before crushing)

►8 oz tub of cool whip, thawed in the fridge
►1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Q: Can I substitute Cool Whip?
I have tested this recipe with whipped cream (by beating 1 cup heavy whipping cream until stiff and fluffy) and although this substitution tastes good, it softens the pretzel crust a bit so the crust isn’t as crisp (it’s better on day 2 when using a cool whip). Also, if using whipped cream, you may wish to add 2/3 cup sugar to the cream cheese to reach the same sweetness.

  1. Baking and making sweets are just not my things. I tried this recipe and when pouring the jello into the pan parts of the cream cheese mix floated to the top and the jello seeped into the bottom with the pretzels 😡 pretty sure they’ll be mushy and gross once it’s all done.

  2. We made this for a church potluck, and it's tasty for a summer time treat. There are different variations you can do with it, like raspberry jello with raspberries, orange jello with mandarin oranges, and peach jello with sliced peaches. For Thanksgiving one year, we made it with cranberry jello and cranberries.

  3. It may sound boring, but my family used to love what we called, "Pudding Dessert." It's the same idea as the Strawberry Pretzel Salad, except that the crust is a flour/crushed-chopped almonds/butter layer (baked also). Add to that, the same cream cheese/ whipped cream layer. Top that off with chocolate pudding with instant coffee (or expresso) mixed in, and then, add a final layer of regular whipped cream (Cool Whip is fine). Garnish how you would like with chocolate sprinkles or shavings.

We've also made it with butterscotch pudding (no instant coffee added, of course), but I would guess that this same basic recipe idea could be used for any type of pudding that one likes. It's also popular at potlucks and all. 🙂

  4. I've made this many times over the years and it never gets old! I prefer to use raspberry's and I have use several types of fruit with matching jello! I was wondering if you have a recipe for Cornish Game Hens?

  5. I was looking for a strawberry jubilee recipe and came across this from my favorite YouTube cook, Natasha🤩! I have all these ingredients, including lots of "leftover" Christmas pretzels, so this is today's new easy recipe 👨‍🍳🍓🥨

  6. I love this recipe . I make this strawberry-pretzel salad for every holiday . it's awesome dessert for christmas. my family and friends enjoy it. it's one of my favorite desserts. it's easy to make and it's not expensive at all to make.
