If they follow this recipe and post pics it will not look anything like this since you deliberately glided over the red food colouring in your narration.
The red colouring is standard practice but it's possible to get colouring with red fermented bean curd. It is available from time to time in specialty groceries like Sincere's but is generally hard to find. It will not be the same neon- red it will add flavour.
