Ingredients:
Serves 4 pax
Marinate chicken

500g of boneless chicken thigh
2 tablespoons of light soy sauce
1.5 tablespoons of fresh ginger juice
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
1 tablespoon of Chinese cooking wine / Shaoxing Huatiao wine
1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil
3 tablespoons of cornflour
Prepare more cornflour for coating before deep-frying
Honey sauce
=====
Some cooking oil
1 thumb size ginger – julienne
5 cloves of chopped garlic
1/4 cup of water
4 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
2 tablespoons of honey

Tried this for dinner tonight, it turned out to be a great dish. The batter was still crispy after coated with the sauce. The taste was very well balanced with a hint of ginger, garlic, honey …..

I just made this for dinner tonight. The dredging of the meat with cornstarch looked easy but this process took some time. Prob cos I cut the chicken smaller hence more dredging work required. Also Roland, the chicken took a much longer time to fry n the first batch turned out soggy. It only became crispier n frying time shortened when I turned the heat to high. So the med heat instruction given didn’t work for my stove. I didn’t hv regular honey and used fermented honey with a vinegary taste n turned out pretty good. It gave it a tangy flavour in addition to the sweetness. My family loved it. This recipe is a keeper but I would give myself a longer prep time in future. Novice 🧑🍳

Heat up the oil.. medium, medium or high. When you fry ginger and garlic. Talk everything else but forgot the basic to mention
