quite a few people have issues with contact dermatitis from prepping this squash. It comes from exposure to the clear, thick liquid that comes out of the cut skin. Personally I use a kitchen towel to hold it while cutting of the skin with a sharp knife. This will reduce greatly the chance is getting this rather nasty reaction. 😉
you don't have to peel these kind of squash, like Hokkaido
