I was hoping for something a little less… pollution like.
I funnel it back into the bottle it came in. Reuse a few times and then just throw the bottle away.

Only in the US. In civilized countries we recycle and there is a system with designated and reusable oil containers in place to do so.
But… I can't get plastic grocery bags any more!

Wow! Throw away the oil!!! Wasteful. In Switzerland, we have a special place to bring our used kitchen oil to recycle it. I only throw away my oil if we are on vacation and I don't know where to take it to recycle.
If you work in a fucking kitchen, get a used oil drum. Fill it up and sell it. Tossing it in the trash is not only wasteful, it is illegal for a commercial kitchen to do.
Wash and keep some of your tin cans, pour grease into them then freeze. On garbage day, toss the can.
I usually just slurp up the remaining oil with a straw.

You're not supposed to throw away oil in the garbage! Bring it to the recycling station, they'll know what to do with it. Really, it is completely normal here in Holland to do so.

I usually just keep the container the oil came in and then pour the oil into that when i'm finished with it so it doesn't leak when i toss it.

Is there anything wrong with dumping it in the grass? An episode of good eats on frying turkey finished with them dumping it in the grass. Exactly how eco-freindly is that vs. the plastic bag option?
I usually freeze my oils and other cooking fats in an old Tupperware container. When it's garbage day I pop it out like an ice cube and throw it away asap.
Who has plastic bags? They have been banned here for years.
I totally do this! I use only 2 or 3 bags though. I don't deep fry but I do this after browning and draining ground beef or baking chicken pr pork.
Don't toss it! Make soap or use it as biodiesel.

When I used to fry food, which I don't anymore, I just used the traditional southern method. Oil can be re-used multiple times. If it's clear or light colored it's good. We stored it in the pantry in coffee cans usually, or mason jars. Use the oil until it becomes dark which means it's oxidized. After it's completely spent, dump it on the grass. Cheers.

I use old gallon plastic milk jugs with threaded cap, they wont leak at all. pour oil in with a funnel. Orange juice jugs work but its hard to see when the jug is close to full.
nice! ill try this, i usually use old spaghetti/jam jars and fill that up
i use to just pour it down the sink with liquid soap and hot water. Now i use a ziploc bag
