We're just extra in Sweet Home Alabama ❤ A dear friend gave me the recipe for my all-time favorite cake (fresh apple cake) 40+ years ago. I was confused because it calls for self-rising flour, baking soda & salt. I checked with her to be sure I had written it down right. She assured me i did. I was a new wife at 15 & she was about 7 years older than me. She taught me so much about cooking & baking. You remind me alot of her Ms. Lori, so sweet , patient & a heart for sharing your recipes with others. God bless you & Mr. Brown.

Two have chickens, but I think it’s good to know because I buy two dozen eggs and then both my daughters will come over like this weekend and bring me some eggs, so I will definitely be freezing some. I’m excited to try. I too love pecans and I don’t really care for sweet sweet stuff so after we finish up the pound cake I made for Mother’s day I will be making this nut bread.
