Sweet and Sour Pork

The best ever Sweet and Sour Pork recipe is loaded with tricks the Chinese have been using for centuries: double dredge and double fry for the crispiest coating, economical pork cuts used for flavour and juiciness, but tenderised with baking soda so you’d swear they’re pricey chops, and a sauce that’s not sickeningly sweet.Β

BONUS: oven baked Sweet and Sour Pork directions included!

  1. Nagi, this is the third of your recipes that I have tried and it is the third time that my family and I have really enjoyed out meal. All three are now on the menu, although this one takes quite some effort, so it will be a somewhat infrequent treat. Thanks

  2. Hello, I love your recipes and decided to buy your cookbook today, but I just thought I would give you some feedback, I went looking for this recipe and found your index/contents so hard to use ie while standing in Kmart so excited as I found your book there, I must have spent 10 minutes looking for this recipe, was it under pork, was it under Asian, was it under mains, was it under another heading I can't remember if it was called substantial, comforting something like that and to make matters worse not everything was alphabetical under these headings.
I'm so disappointed. I didn't end up buying your book and I really wanted to.
So please, please when doing your next book consider this.

  3. Wow. my son just got an A on his report and wanted something special, he asked for sweet and sour pork so this is what I will make. This looks awesome and hope it turns out as fantastic as yours did. I also loved the soundtrack you used that plays a long with watching the video, do you know the artist? Thanks,
