I got a Weber 22 in. Performer Deluxe Charcoal Grill in July of 2021. I have almost had it for one year now. I chose the Copper version, this grill is also available in Crate Barrel Slate Blue, Crimson, Green, and classic black. I have always loved the Weber Kettle charcoal grills. These grills aren’t cheep. I bought mine last year for $459. This thing has gone up $100 since then. So yeah I feel like I got a real bargain.

Living the life. Thanks for the review. Very helpful
It’s not blood, it’s juice. 😎
Can you also cook just using gas or is it only to light the coals
update- how do you like it 2 years in? 6/2024
what type of charcoal do you use?
I picked one up at auction slightly used for $45 propane tank was empty so unknown if igniter works but it still looks like I did ok with outdoor grill cover included..👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Look, I love my performer but I do wish you could adjust the height of the coals.
Bought one today, can not wait. Have a Ooni Koda 16", Traeger, Gas grill, but i am sure this will be my number one. Thanks for the video.
Awesome grill review! going to order one. Great review too, and…I LOVE THAT POOL!
Great video. "sear to lock in the juices" and "no blood running out" you gotta read up bro. Myoglobin isn't blood and searing doesn't lock in juices. It's trivial though. As long as the food comes out tasting good it doesn't matter.
Is the table on this one metal or plastic
Terrible audio 😢
Do you need to use Weber brand bottles or will those standard propane bottles you get from the store work? Looks like you need to use Webers from what I see.
May be moot but does the kettle's color affect the grilling dynamic? Not only am I contemplating a Weber Performer Deluxe but I'm drawn to the bronze kettle, too.
I have the same grill, same color and I love the thing. I've had it for 5-6 years now so it was pretty beat up. Ignition system failed, bottom grate was seriously warped where the burners are, the top temp adjust was warped and finally the top handle came off of the top. I was about to buy another one but instead I purchased replacement parts from weber and took it completely apart, cleaned it up (nasty job but worth it) fixed what was broken and reassembled. It's like new again. I bought a chimney after the ignitor went out (just needed a battery, duh) and will probably still use it with the gas as a starter for the chimney as suggested by @dbkfrogkaty1 below.
I bought a replacement one today😊 for my very well used one that I owned for over 20 years. I had made other repairs to my old one over the years, but the gas valve quit working properly. I’m not a fan of explosions, so I decided it was finely time to retire it. Didn’t even consider another model. LOVE this grill and can’t wait to get my new one! Worth every penny of the cost!
If you want a challenge, try assembling one of these grills https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I am a technician by trade and the technical instructions were easy to follow. No reading, just pictures and diagrams. You assemble everything in 5 steps from the bottom up. Step #1 – Assemble 4 Legs and Wheels; Step #2 – Add the Front Cover and Cross Bars to support the frame; Step #3- Assemble the Burner to the Lower Grill Housing and install the knobs; Step #4 – Install the Side Burner and side shelf; and Finally Step #5 – Install the Upper Char- Broil Lid, Cooking Racks, 3 Burner Railings and Lid Handle. That's It and you're done in about 2 hours and 40 minutes. You have the option to pay for assembly after making the purchase – I would strongly suggest that you take it if you don't want to be bothered with this challenge. The only tool I used was a Phillips head screwdriver and a standard pair of pliers. The grill cost a little more because of the side burner, but this is what makes the grill so versatile and popular among backyard grillers. Have fun and enjoy!
Just picked this thing up yesterday. and the table adjustable grate and ash catcher are by far the three things I love the most.
Sold! Getting one tomorrow! May i ask does it come with a cover?
There is a slit in the back to hang your grill grate by the handle when you need to move it out of the way. It’s easily forgotten since it’s in the back.
The gas start is the only reason I'd spend 600 for a grill.
After many years with Weber kettles, I bought a Kamado. Then, the snow collapsed my deck and broke my expensive Kamado.
I replaced it with the Weber Performer with the folding table. There is nothing you can't do on a Webber Kettle.
The Kamado worked well, too.
It wasn't worth the cost to replace.
I'll stick with tried and true Webber.
Absolutely best charcoal grill
thanks for telling us what the timer is for, I was completely lost when I inherited this grill
Had mine since early 2006. Just put a replacement work-table on it (old one was the composite plastic type that had cracked a decade ago) and added a cast iron bottom coal-grate.
Re: the gas starter – you don't need to run it nearly that long (save your tank). I only run it maybe 3 to 5 minutes at most until the bottom coals catch. The it'll keep goin just fine without the burner running until they're ready to cook on. Fantastic little grill.
I just got this. What do i do with the disposable drip pan? Do i keep it or put it away? Also the char baskets are worth using? Some of my friends just remove them and put charcoal all over the bottom like normal ways
Throw some smoking chips on there bro
Man, this video made me just wanna grill
Merci mec 🙂
Those rimshots make me laugh. good job!
Thanks for the video! I was looking for an honest review and exploring different brands and models before getting one for my husband. Now, definitely getting this one for him this Christmas!
Just ordered, can’t wait to use it 🎉🎉🎉
Honestly, if you put the ash catcher holders up high enough on the classic model it won't fall
We had one about 6 years ago, lived 45’ from ocean….salt absolutely killed the entire cart. Recently moved to desert and bought the crimson edition…looking forward to using it.
Old unit had a resin table, new one is in box….interesting you mentioned the table is powder coat steel.
Enjoy and thank you
✌️
I'm thinking about buying one of these very soon.
Thanks for the video.
If you ever make it to Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, I'll let you buy me a beer mate.
So you will lite this version using gas not with the chimney?? and also does the taste of the food taste similar like the charcoal only version??
Mine’s going on 16 years old and in perfect condition. Key is to constantly keep in covered when not in use and perform a once a year thorough cleaning.
How much?
Great review
