  1. The Pompeian olive oil's label lists all of the countries that they source olive oil from but the actual batch the oil is from is imprinted into the plastic of the bottle, usually just below the label. It's a little hard to see unless you get it in the light just right.

  2. I bought new olive oil for the house tis past weekend and then I saw this video got posted and said "oh no" but my trusty Bertolli showed up ready for the task lol

Also, I like the long form taste test format, particularly for pantry staple items

  3. Great test. I usually buy the California Olive brand. Be careful when buying this though because they have two different oils available. One (the cheaper one) is made from olive sourced from different parts of the world and their premium line is made from 100% California grown olives. What's shocking to me though is how expensive this brand has gotten. The last time I checked, their prices have almost doubled. I think I'll try the Bertolli brand to see how I like it.

  4. Thank you for buying the olive oil and the review. Im a little confused now however because I follow two italian programs on TV that cook and review things. For olive oil, they say single source olives (as in one region), first press, cold press, dark glass bottles or metal containers, along with date of harvesting. Are those things not as important in your opinion? Like you pointed out, what you're using the oil for and personal taste also is a big consideration.

  5. So Lisa was acting like she was scared of Julia in this video and Julia was coming off like such a b*tch for some reason… lol. I am ashamed to admit how much ATK I watch and I dont typically get this vibe from Julia but couldnt ignore it in this video

  6. There's a Trader Joe's literally a mile from these guys, and a Costco a little further. Both with fantastic olive oils at a better price, fresher and available nationwide. Seems like this test is rigged for a reason.

  7. Spain is the first country in the world in the production and processing of olive oil. By a strict law, the oils from Spain must be pressed in the same area the olives were harvested. Your presentation of quality olive oil is incomplete without Spain production. Some of the brands you presented press olives harvested in different countries . Olive oil is the most adulterated and is controlled by international mafia.

  8. Crazy how the ratings drastically changed over the years. California Ranch was the best one they rated last time and now it’s in 7th place below mainstream brands like Bertolli and Pompeian?! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  9. Lucini is my favorite to cook with, and depending on the dressing I'm making, it's the one I usually reach for. It holds really well when I've roasted vegetables in the oven (especially roasted mushrooms), and tastes amazing in my focaccia.

  10. Surprised that you didn't have La Tourangelle in this review! I see in everywhere, even Wal*Mart. It's easily recognizable… aluminum cylinder with a white snap on cap. I first encountered it at Sur La Table. Purchased their infused oils. Garlic, Basil and Herbs De Provence. Lately I've be purchasing the regular olive oil from Wal*Mart. It's organic, single source from Spain. Actually just checked the date on the can. I swear they used to put the harvest date, but I only see a best by date. Which, from your review, could be a red flag! I'm going to keep my eye out for their other varieties to see if harvest date is absent. If so, I'll have to go back to the drawing board, opening my pallet to other oils. It could very well be a good oil, but never know if I've become complacent with taste unless I compare to others.
