We need a runner up! Weber has increased it's price 40% since this video!
I love the Americas test kitchen and Cooks country shows on pbs and your YouTube videos but the best grill is actually a griddle. I have a blackstone 36. About 6 years old. Keep up the great work on tv and YouTube.
terrible grills
Thank you for such a scientific and concise review. It helped me quite a bit.
BS. Cast iron is one of the worst for retaining heat. That is why it is so good as a brake rotor for your car. It cools quickly. As far as cooking materials goes it's copper, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. BTW, I just switched from a cast to a SS grill and the SS performs better.
Have you at America's Test Kitchen tested pellet grills yet?
Doesnt actually show or rate grills
If you like your meat any shade of rare don't buy this. The primary grill surface is 424 sq/in with 30,000 BTU's. The math works out to 70.75 BTU/sq Inch. It will NEVER caramelized the outside of the meat before overcooking the inside on a 1 inch thick steak (I prefer rib-eye thank you very much). This has been the bane of my existence trying to buy a new grill. I finally gave up grilling steaks in favor of doing it on the stove in a blazing hot skillet. Perfect every time. I did a whole bunch of research a few years ago and even the most expensive grill on the market, that advertised high BTU's was just BS because those BTU's were spread out over a massive primary grill, thus the BTU's per sq/in were just as bad as this one. My next grill I am going back to charcoal with an adjustable level split coal grate so I can actually cook my rare steaks on the grill. I just don't see any other option if I don't want to eat shoe leather.
Your previous video on this topic was so much better. This video's fake conversation is so annoying.
So this was a Weber ad?
So was the Weber grill the only good grill how did the other do.
Okay, great all good to know but one more spec needs to be discussed: cleanup. Which grills help you keep it clean and which grills' design and material just make it worse?

Came in to see which is the best Food processor, ended up watching 10 of your episodes. I love it.. Thank you.
Sounds a tad bias… wink wink.. I taste a little kick back flavor in this review.. (nice way to not mention any good parts of any other grills.. NO way I'll buy this scam.
And you didn't mention the other brands tested, including their results?! Very disappointing.
Wish they still made the behemoth Ducane gas grills. Owned 2 of them. One 10 year old Ducane was damaged so replaced with same which lasted 25 years. So sad when we hauled it off.
Do a comparison of ~$1000 grills please.
GET THE GENESIS !!!
You should do pellet smokers next
Hello, could you do a review of gas griddles (ie Blackstone, Cano Chef). Thank you
