Dont be like me, and forget to thaw your steaks… but if you do, here’s a trick that works so well no one would notice the difference!! I’ll blame this mistake on being sick the past week 😂😂
So we’re going turn this mistake into an experiment and try cooking them frozen in the sous vide! I’ve seen this before, but never tested it out!
I’ve always been curious if the texture would change or how good it would actually work, and I was very surprised with the result!
One let thing to remember, is normally 1.5 hours does the trick, but with a frozen steak I recommend adding an hour! 2.5-3 hours will do the trick!
Knife – @messermeister
Cutting board – @dalstrong
Vacuum sealer – @zwilling_usa
Sous vide – @anovaculinary
Seasoning – @chilesandsmoke Canyon Crust
Pan – @hexclad
Beef tallow – @southchicagopacking
Olive oil – @getgraza

I would have not unwrapped the steaks from the plastic wrap, put them in a ziplock and gotten rid of the air, then put them in bowl with med warm water. Put some weight on the steaks so they sink. Change the water two or three times and they defrost in enough to season and cook. Oh and say “My bad” a lot while you’re doing it.
Just thaw the steak, it takes less time than to sous vide it lmao
a few HOURS? at this point just cook something else
I can just put my steak in a ziplock and let's it sit in a bow of cool water for like 15-30mins and it thaw
🐰
If I have a few hours to sous vide it! Then I have a few hours to let the steak thaw out!
Bro is replying in the comments saying that the implication of this video isn't "I forgot to thaw the protein for dinner so here's a quick way to cook a frozen steak."
C'mon man, you know what you're doing here lol. If you just wanted to show how to sous vide a frozen steak that's cool. No one is going to push their dinner back 3 hours like this
That being said though, looks great and he seems like he knows what he's doing
Thanks for this
If you forgot to thaw the steaks for steak night, then that implies you want to start cooking immediately. If you have to wait a few hours (I’m assuming 3 hours at least since that’s what a few means.), then this doesn’t help you at all.
Now sous viding a frozen steak is fine, but the implication at the start makes it seem like you were going to tell your audience how to get a nice steak immediately when they forgot to thaw it.
Good steak. Bad delivery.
Interesting video, sous vide can hold it right at medium rare temp so you can prep in advance without fear of overcooking. Not sure why others are hating when its not something they would do regardless
Im not waiting hours to eat a steak bruh😂
