  1. $94 my a**. Try twice that much. And good for Bonavita if it can sell a bridge to idiots. A simple pour over with a filter is about 0.02¢ and takes just 5 minutes with water as hot as you like. No $2 coffee machine can beat that.

  2. On our third one (We are ROUGH on our coffee makers!) Never let us down, with 7.4 grains of hardness we've only descaled twice. A known problem however is the water reservoir gets hair line cracks, Ours have never leaked but others have stated theirs leaked on the bottom seal. BTW, none of our ever failed, we just wanted new undented coffee makers over the years, they still made great coffee when we replaced them. (We've never seen them below $140 )

  3. First off, I like your videos. I’m an occasional coffee drinker. Maybe because I have a terrible coffee maker and don’t understand how to brew a great cup? I would like to purchase a better coffee maker that according to the National Coffee Association, your brewer should maintain a water temperature between 195 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal extraction. With a glass carafe, bloom cycle, prefusion, can remove carafe mid brewing for a quick cup, coffee brewing timer. Is there a coffee maker that has all these features without breaking the bank. I highly respect your opinion. Thanks

  4. You keep stating the Bonavita 8 Cup Coffee Maker, One-Touch Pour Over Brewing with Thermal Carafe, SCA Certified, Stainless Steel (BV1900TS) is only $94.00 @ Aug 24-2022. I wanted one so I clicked on your link to this coffe maker And now @ 11-3-2022 your link to this coffee maker is $179.00. That's $85.00 difference????? What's up????

  5. When was this video made? Most the still shots are the same shots they showed in their reviews from many years past. If you read the bad 1-star reviews (and there are plenty) on Amazon on the winning Bonavita coffee maker, several reviewers say what they paid, and it was at $100 in 2017. According to another reviewer, the coffee maker was already at $149 in 2020. There's no way this coffee maker was $94 in August of 2022. Not surprising. Once again, America's Test Kitchen giving the win to the most expensive products. Higher price doesn't guarantee quality or longevity. It's just a more expensive disposable small appliance, same as all the other expensive plastic pieces of junk American consumers are stuck with.

  6. Yep, like others here say it's really $180. I was looking for something comparable to my aeropress or my French press for coffee quality but that didnt require me to babysit the brew. Not gonna dump that much cash for this though.

  7. I had that coffee maker and in about 4 years was replaced once by the manufacturer and then just recently went out again. I also paid almost $200 for it. Made great coffee but poor build quality. Can’t use the carafe to fill the machine unless you attached the lid, can’t pour without it otherwise it makes a mess. Upgraded to the technivorm mochamaster and makes the best coffee ever. Worth the $300

  8. Bonavita is poorly built,I had two that failed, the first one would not shut off and was replaced under warranty. The second one stopped working all together and just past warranty and Bonavita would not replace it.There is no service center available for repair, they do not stand behind their products.Stay clear of Bonavita.Paid $139 on Amazon 8 years ago so IDK where they got it for $94.Wrong.
Tap water? Remember lousy water = lousy coffee no matter how good the maker is.

  9. Have had the Bonavita for about a year. It makes good coffee but is cumbersome and inconvenient to use. You have to screw the lid on after it brews, it wont fit back in the holder with the lid on, the carafe is rather weak in keeping the coffee warm. I REALLY miss our OXO 9-cup coffee maker which is better in all ways

  10. ATK doesn't even include Bonavita in their latest testings because the company is in such turmoil. It's an odd choice to post such an old, outdated video which features prices and coffee makers from several years ago.
