If you are cooking for 1-2 people I would suggest the 3 Quart. If you are cooking for more, I would suggest the 6 quart!

  1. I just made the stew and when I open my pressure cooker, the smell was so strong like an ammonia smell I’m not for sure what the smell is. I didn’t notice my beef broth was outdated by three months but I figure we should still be OK. I added corn is the only thing I did different than what you called for. Do you have any idea what went wrong or why that smell so I’m having to throw the whole thing away away

  2. I requested to join the FB group last week and it is still pending. I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone is doing and enjoying all the tips that are sure to be there.
My hubby is anxious for me to try this stew – it looks really flavorful! ;-D

  3. That spoonful looked like whoever had it first threw up because he forgot to put the ketchup. …Ketchup in the stew? You must saute the beef and onion for some taste and color first, maybe little red wine …Cooking is like painting you must know how to blend the colors

  4. Thank you for this recipe. I want to make this for dinner tonight. I want to introduce my flat mate to beef stew as he has never had it before. He is from Beirut and he makes wonderful Lebanese dishes. We have been trading recipes and he has NEVER had this. I knew I could count on you to have the perfect recipe, as well as easy dump and go. Think I will make some “good ole” southern corn bread to go with this.

  5. Hello, Kristin! can you please tell me what size IP you are using? I have the 6 qt. Instant Pot Duo Crisp with Air Fryer lid that my Son just gave me for my Christmas and Birthday present. Thank you AND I really like your videos about how to use and recipes. It sat there a couple of days before I got brave enough to open it and hoping it would not blow up the kitchen, me, or it. I was sharing with my family that I cooked water and it turned out excellently so I cooked bacon and it was crispy just like I enjoy it. It was a big step for me to just perform the "water test". I didn't even "jump out of my skin" when I released the pressure at the end. 🙂

  6. Don't like mushy potatoes or carrots. Can I cook for 15 min then add carrots and potatoes and cook for additional 15? Or some other timing split that will cook veggies evenly. And if I cut recipe in half, is it still 30 min?

  7. The end result looks a bit pale. I would have taken the time to brown my meat till crispy brown on both sides (this would give the stew a richer look), added the liquid into the meat and as she said would put the onion soup mix in the bottom with the meat then pile in the rest of the ingredients, but would let the pressure cooker do a natural release for at least 15 minutes before doing the quick release, however her family was starving! 🤣

  8. Thank you ma'am…I added a few extra seasonings to mine but that junt was 🔥! I decided at the last minute to do a beef stew and found your video and said "Yeah , I GOT THIS!" A sister was dancing when she tasted this soooo good! I just bought my instant pot last month so it's not broken in yet but it will be.😍

  9. Wow! Bought an instant pot on Black Friday and it sat till I saw your vid three nights ago. I was pumped to try this recipe! It went PERFECT! Great weekend grub! Thank you for the encouragement!

  10. This has become one of my most frequently made instant pot meals. Love it. And so easy to modify, I've done it with pork, chicken, added some rice and a bit more liquid. Just a great, easy, tasty dinner. Thanks so much!
