For viewers in Canada: 'O-Cedar' is the marque of Freudenberg products in the U.S.A. and are not available here. Instead, look for 'Vileda,' which are identical products aside from the label and packaging. I've been a Scrunge evangelist for years, and my dish brush (very similar to the pots and pans brush showcased here) sees daily use as well. I was impelled to solve this little mystery after noticing Hannah's Scrunge (2:27), and then scrubbing forward to see whether that was also featured here. Once I discovered the difference in brand names, it solved an earlier mystery: in another video, Lisa mentioned her brush (hanging above her sink in the background) in passing but called it O-Cedar, and I assumed it was the other brush since I was pretty sure that the white brush with red handle and blue bristles was a Vileda like mine. #WrongNotWrong
I’d like the video more if it was just No Nonsense Lisa.
How do I get a white stove in an apartment clean? Also, what is the best product for cleaning ovens? These two are the BANE of my experience, and I've tried normal 409 and scrubbing, and it didn't work, I need a good degreaser
What about Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds and Castile soaps? My favorites!
Wow! Thank you for all your work. Most of your items were confirmation of what I use and made me feel wonderful ❤😂
Aaaugh no sponges in the kitchen germ factory or on dishes! 1960 in home economics we were taught to use dish brushes. Dish clothes for wiping counters, range tops, cabinets. 🤗
Can we use the scrub brush on the inside of Le Creuset , especially the coated enamel skillet 🍳 pan?
and what about mops? Someone has to mop the kitchen floor!
What about the bamboo paper towels and the swedish dish cloths?
Not too helpful…
Wood utensils or Bamboo?
When I redid my kitchen and installed unsealed cherry butcher block counters (that I LOVE), I researched wood oils and switched from mineral oil to walnut oil. I find it SEALS and protects all of my wooden implements, boards, and countertops. And it is not a petroleum product which I try to avoid whenever possible.
Awesome from the dollar store is the very best cleaner!
Paper products…not environmentally friendly! How about use old fashioned kitchen towels and wash them folks?! Thank you
I don't buy napkins. My paper towels pull double duty for me and the durability isn't that important when half the rolls going towards napkins. I would like to see the testing geared towards that because bounty is twice the price of sparkle 12$ for 6 vs 5.58$
If the spills get a bit out of hand I use a kitchen towel. Don't buy tissues either, I use toilet paper.
All these extra paper goods think were just a marketing ploy for the older generations
Sadly, a lot of these are no longer available on Amazon (I'm looking at you O-Cedar Scrub brush!). Hope you folks are updating this soon?!
I have "never" owned a scrub sponge.
The problem with Mrs. Meyers is unless you use the unscented, everything you clean will carry the scent of the cleaner, especially plastics and my frying pan!
I think we just HEARD from the oil industry. You will be safer if you do not pollute with petroleum based products.
That tiny kitchen needs to be monochromatic and light. Needs repainting. Those dark colors and lack of uniformity makes it look smaller. Seven Minerals Castile Soap will clean your dishes better and is non-toxic, and no palm oil.
is there a recommended kitchen cleaner for hard water?
dish soup seems to be bonding to the minerals/salts in the water instead of the surface that needs cleaning.
I would like to see you do a comparison of Horses and microfiber towels.
See Melissa Maker for cleaners. Unless you’re looking for sanitizing you can make your own general surface spray. Water, a drop of dish soap, and your favorite scent of essential oil into a spray bottle. Spray and leave it set to do its work for a few minutes. “Dwell time” does the work, not the product.
As far as I know mineral Oil can produce cancer in your body. Why not use linseed oil, every Woodworker recommends it.
There are 2 Bar Keepers Friend on the store shelves, a yellow container that you are using and the silver blue one, which I bought. The yellow container holds a lot more product than the silver blue one for the same amount of money. I bought the smaller container because it seems to be mostly for cookware. TBH, is there a difference between the two?
Wow! The section on sponges alone blew me away. This was so interesting (and helpful) to watch!
Lisa, I love the ingenious drain rack you have above the sink. What a great, great idea!!!
For the sink sponge, I use the chunky potato shaped sponge that Muji at least used to sell. Back then, I bought a ton, with the goal of getting a lifetime supply for me and my daughter, in case anything bad happened, which is to say I intuitively knew we were heading for the scamdemic and all it entailed. Anyway, what's so ingenious about the Muji sponge, is that one, it's similar to the Sponge Daddy sponge, in that it holds it's shape, and the pores are very large. It's more flexible than the Sponge Daddy sponge, though. The large pores allow particles to rinse out easily, but at the same time, it retains soap, so that the soap is not wasted. Plus, the potato shape (oval and thick), allows you to hold it perfectly in your hand, it's just so darned ergonomic, it's the ultimate sponge shape, as opposed to the mattress shaped ones. Plus the Muji sponge is white, so it doesn't look obnoxiously bright beside the sink.
The only place I've seen those sponges now, are in bottle cleaning tools that Amazon sells, which is the same design of the bottle cleaning tool that Muji used to sell. Which is simply, the same chunky white sponge, clasped at the end of a long stainless steel mounting clasp thingie. It's very minimal and long lasting, there are no bristles to get yucky, and the sponge is a greater cleaner for bottles than a brush. The stainless clasp assures that the sponge doesn't break off from it's attachment. It's a good product, but it's the only way to get a hold of the Muji style sponges now as far as I know. I hope they bring them back. The NWO ushered in by the koolaide drunkards is just so sad.
Have you tested Swedish dish cloths as paper towel replacements?
I love Barkeepers Friend and Method. I am not a fan of mineral oil since it is a petroleum product, coconut oil worlds really well too 😄
I’ve been preaching the bounty gospel for years. Literally have let them dry out and use them again.
Hannah's rocking Aesop hand soap. She doesn't mess around.
