I was happy to see my Breville take the trophy. The model I bought a decade ago is slightly different but I absolutely love it. Everyone advised me to get a masticating juicer but the thing is I actually like to reuse the pulp. Not only does my dog love the pineapple and watermelon that comes out the other end… but you can use the pulp to make zucchini bread or banana nut bread etc. It just takes some balancing and experimenting.
Someone I know was moving internationally and was getting rid of their Breville so I took it in so now I have two at two different locations.
There's only one thing I don't like about these large juicers. I've always had dishwashers which I rarely use but oh, my, you really need a dishwasher to get these parts clean afterwards. My second Breville is at a weekend hut and we do not have a dishwasher there and I will admit sometimes I've actually taken it to the back stoop and hosed It off!
I have learned so much!
Wow!!! This really helped me in my search for a juicer! Thank you!
Wish we could have seen the real processing time
That was a masticating screen you showed.
I hope to see testing on a hands free orange juicer called Vinci Juicer.
Could do w/o the First World problem's whining about the "whining pitch". It's not on that long. Can put on ear protection. Think of appliances as tools. More power, may mean more noise.
Thank you guys for reviewing of all the functionality and what you get for what you pay to do job.
Please review a line up of masticating upright juicers!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
She's wrong about the tubes of masticating juicers. I PROMISE. Look up the Nama J2 or the Hurom H200/300. Masticating/Cold Press Juicers are the way to go. I have used centrifical juicers all my life and it sucks!
Hey ladies. Never been into the zen, raw food heath stuff. Not sure I want to live to 90+ yrs old if kale etc is the way there ;-). But seriously.. and if yes, would either machine be good just making apple juice/cider? If so…which type would be best?
Thanx in advance and love you two together. We need TV segments of Gearheads…you can cut all of the on-screen time from Dan to make room. <3
This is a terrible review. Centrifugal is good for juicing juicy fruits like oranges, strawberries, celery, peaches. Masticating juicer is best for dryer or soild vegs like carrots, leafy greens, etc.
Great video! 👏
Do y'all have a video showing best recipes when using these machines? Thanks!
~7 years ago I bought the Kitchenaid citrus juicer attachment that I use with my mixer. For those times when I need a bunch of lemon juice for making jams, it's terrific.
Much less froth when using a masticating juicer too
Would love to juice but I hate the cleaning part afterwards 😩
Why didn't you test the Nama?
The nama j1 is top dog! Great video.
Laughs in Juicero. 🤡
I have a Cuisinart centrifugal juicer, and a Slow Star that works lke the Omega upright masticating juicer, and I have and love the Juice Man electric citrus juicer that is also a must have. I retired the Cuisinart and plan on giving it to someone who will use it. It is a great juicer, but I prefer the masticating one better.
What about smaller citrus fruits like calamansi.
I wanted to try other brand but.. when I think of warranty…1 year vs 15 years(omega). I have to choose omega. However thank you for making this video. I like your channel.:-)
I hope someone reads my comment: I just want to shout with all the force of my soul ATK I LOVE YOU ALL! You are the BEST!
Washing the damn machine is another headache.
The damn machine is bigger than the version and fruit.
I have a Sana 727 supreme cold press juicer I love it if you have 700 dollars
Just came here to say, that I have a crush with Hannah!
I have a Norwalk..I love it!
So single auger horizontal style?
I CAN NEVER SEE BUYING A ‘JUICER, THE PULP IS ACTUALLY BENEFICIAL, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A DIABETIC , THEN YOU HAVE MORE TO CLEAN UP,,, NO THANKS,ILL EAT THE WHOLE FRUIT, OT VEGGIE, MY NINJA BLENDER CHEWES UP THE PULP, SO I CANN DRINK EVERYTHINH. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hi ATK, if you want to cut down on that backlight in Hannah’s kitchen that sometimes flares the lens, pick up some Rosco neutral density gels (.6 or .9 or 1.2 ) from a photo supplier , tape them over the window above the oven. That will cut down the sunlight. Love the tool reviews! 😀 – Eric
Juicing at home, awesome.
You say the slow vertical masticator has only small openings? You did not test any of the large mouth ones! I have a BioChef Whole Quantum and it has a 3" chute opening. I can put apples, beets, lemons, …. into it whole. I can put an entire celery stalk into it without cutting it up if I follow it with something like a carrot. The juice that comes out of it is not whipped up with air like the centrifugal models. So yes I can keep a juice in the refrigerator for a week without oxygen destroying it. I will juice a batch of apples and we have hot apple cider every night.
And grapefruit, orange, …. does an incredible job! Just remove the skin first. Which peels off. Or we make a batch of lemon/limeade. Smoothies, Lassies, ….
Isn't juice without pulp basically sugar water – unhealthy?
The Omega looks like an Omega VSJ843. Probably would have been good to compare a horizontal masticating juicer with the vertical
Where can I buy the model you should "Dash" 🥤 Juicer?
I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. So please ☺️ help me out.
Thank You ❤️ Mr Severance,
"The Cake 🍰🎂🥳🎈🎉 Man",
"World 🌎 Cruiser"&"Succulent Collector".
Omega is the king of Masticating juicers. Had mine for 10 years using 3-4x's weekly and it's just like new
When I saw the thumbnail for this video I got all excited and clicked on it thinking it was going to have some great recipes for gym rats / meat heads. I'm a little disappointed, now.
Wow! Even Breville is becoming cheap. My older Breville model the part that rotates and has a point that impales the citrus is made of cast iron. Even the rotating filter is metal not plastic. Yours is made of plastic. Why? They are obviously cutting down. Wow!!!
I recommend you put you compostable bag right into the waste bucket for the easiest clean up! just pull it out and straight into your city compost.
For the masticating juicer, have you checked how much pulp is produced? I had a Huron version and it was so pulpy. That’s fine with citrus but not great with carrots where it’s just gritty.
It's better to let us actually hear the sounds while those mechines making juices, the sound really matters.
Been juicing for 30+ years. Try 1.5-2lbs of carrots, 2 celery stalks and a green apple. Put some ice in the pitcher while you juice. Not only does the ice chill the juice, the couple tablespoons of water from the ice enhances the flavor. After a minute in the pitcher and a good stir, pour the juice from the ice.
And save the Kale for the Vitamix.
Do you have any information about the self cleaning juicer advertised lately? You just pour water into it and it’s clean! Seems to good to be true. I really appreciate your informative videos. Thanks for your time and response.
if you cant afford a masticating juicer then save up until you can. those high speed juicers are a waste of money.
Masticating juicers are superior because centrifugal juicers oxygenate the juice, diminishing the benefits of bioflavonoids & Carotenoid, for instance.
My Chef'n broke because the top lever is made of plastic and has a failure point where the plastic can snap where it touches the metal cup. Williams Sonoma's Citrus Press is completely metal on the top level and seems to solve this issue, and it has a very nice attachable juice cup on the bottom. It's exorbitantly expensive of course, but it's significantly better.
