What if I just have 2 ears of corn?
To me, America's Test Kitchen number 1 in the world…
If I used a huge pot, aprox 10 gallons and more ears…would this method still work?

I grow up close to an Amish farm. We always got our produce from them in the summer. The sweet corn was out of this world. There was a sign over the bin of corn that suggested cooking it just like this! I wait all year for their corn and tomatoes to come in and have a feast. Thanks for the video.

I par boil it for just a few minutes and finish it on the grill with some butter melted with black pepper

Any time I see a recipe that involves boiling water, I want to know how to change it at altitude where water boils more slowly. That's why I look to see about making hard-boiled eggs with an air fryer. In this recipe, I still start off with a lower temperature, but I will try it. I probably should buy sous vide though.

The video says the method is flexible, but I'm guessing there's a limit to how many ears you can drop in the water without cooling down too much? When it's corn season around here, the usual quantity is a dozen, not just six.
Can't wait that long. Must eat now.
What`s the temperature we are aiming for in this method?

I Microwave my corn on the husk for 8 minutes in a 1100w microwave oven.
Produces excellent cooked corn every time.

This is a great way to make corn for a large crowd. fill a cooler with corn and cover with boiling water. Close the lid. We do it thins way for our big sumer BBQ's, reunions, etc.
I Sous Vide my corn
2 ears in a vacume bag with some of the husk leaves, salt pepper and a couple TBSPs of butter
And cook it Sous Vide at around 185℉ for 30 minutes
I did this with week old Grocery Store corn and it was the best corn I've ever had in my life
I can only immagine how good it would make FRESH, Local farmed corn
Never boil corn on the cob again. For the sweetest cooked but crisp corn on the cob, peel back husk but keep attached. Remove silk. slide attached husk back up over cob to cover it. Wrap in a damp paper towel. Microwave for four minutes. Remove from microwave, remove husks, break it free from husks. It will be hot. Use dish towel to handle hot corn. Butter and enjoy. Hot, crisp, sweet, and the easiest corn on the cob you will ever make.
Just to think I have been doing it all wrong all these years! This video and gives me that wow because I had always put the corn in cold water then turn on the heat, and within an hour or so after removing it from the water, it started to wilt. Can't wait to try this method!
You cannot get this wright can you!!! Place corn in a pot cover with cold water put on a stove covered on high when it comes to a boil it is done. You keep coming up with these stupid ways of doing the simplest tasks why look back at your last video on how to boil corn now that was BAD.

I love ATK….but this time you could use a little learning. Saunter on over to NW Jersey, go to one of the farms growing sweet Jersey corn and they will learn ya how to cook it properly.
