I still can't believe the Breville won. Having owned several of them, I agree its a great 2nd oven, but ATK has really lost creditability by continuing to rank it as the best "TOASTER" oven, 'cause they CAN'T MAKE TOAST!!

We had our Brevil for six and a half yrs. yesterday 😍hubby🥰 tried to heat up a french baguette, and right in the middle of heating, the Brevil quit 😡!! We liked the toaster oven so much, we gave two of them as gifts. Now, we are going to buy the cheapest one we can find just so hubby can have crispy baguettes 😀

I bought a Smart Oven in 2015 along with a DuxTop Gold induction cooker. I've kept it going ever since; replaced a fuse once in a super-simple repair. These two appliances have almost completely replaced my garbage Amana electric range that came with the house when I bought it in 2003. The SmartOven will cook nearly anything, takes the quarter sheet pan like a champ, and is very energy efficient while doing it.

I’ve been using a Hamilton beach brand toaster oven almost daily since I got my first apartment back in June of 2009. Sometimes I use it multiple times a day. It’s going on 14 years now.

Great demonstration! Like everybody else, we are not overly blessed with counter space. We bought a wooden rolling serving cart and put our microwave on it and stacked the Breville toaster oven on top of it.
The non Stick coatings inside the toaster ovens and the trays. You don’t address off gassing and that affecting the taste or air quality- why not?

I just watched the ATK toaster oven review from 3 years ago and no joke, most of what is said here was taken from the old review verbatim. A bit disappointing.
There are more than one very similar to the one you say is the best one, but which one is it? The BOV800XL, BOV 845BSS or BOV900BSS?
You didn't test the Ninja Foodi XL Pro or the new Kitchenaid oven??

We got a Breville in June of this year. We are disappointed with the toasting part of it. It only toasts the top of the bread. Called Breville and their response was we must be using the wrong type of bread🤔 perhaps the sugar content was the problem. At $250 I would think they would stand by their product. They now want us to ship it to NY for repair. Not happy at this time 😣

i don’t have a lot of counter space at the moment, but I moved with a breville smart oven Air, which is a giant. but i love it, and had to make room for it.
I easily take a small skillet of fish/pork/beef/chicken from stove to oven and finish its cooking, which I love. Also great for quick roasting at high temps. No need to heat up a big oven.
Cheapo Black and Decker is on my counter. I use it daily.
Surprisingly, you didn't mention insulation as a contributor to maintaining proper temperature. The Breville ovens have better insulation than many other brands.
We got the bee like smart oven ~3 years ago and we LOVE it, my only problem is we’ve rubbed the print off of the lightbulb button but we know what that button does so it doesn’t bother us!
I find that different breads toast at different rates, depending probably on the varied amount of sugar and stuff in them. So I watch my toast in the toaster oven pretty carefully to make sure it gets as even as possible. I will Flip and rotate it to make it even. I have the mini breville smart oven.
I loved my Breville oven but the digital controls went haywire after 1 year of heavy use. Had to trash it b/c no one could fix it and without controls you had no way of knowing what the temperature was. Too bad b/c otherwise ok.
$250.00 is outrageous to pay for a toaster oven…I don’t know anyone that would use a toaster oven for anything but toasting and re-heating…you have convinced me that this video is without merit…
Why didn’t you try the WOLF toaster oven in your tests? It’s much more expensive then buying cheap O’s.
I would agree. I have the larger version. In it we toast croissants, open or closed, rehet foods, air fry, I baked a 12 lb turkey perfectly a few times, made tons f pizzas. I have not yet dried fruits etc.
The only thing is cleaning the elements. Gotta be careful. And after air frying wings, its a bit to clean.
but this thing is a work horse. Very good value. I sent one to my daughter when she got her first apt, she uses it every day.
I have had a Breville for 15 years and no other toaster oven comes close! Solid construction , great convection and huge capacity make this a winner. In my opinion all their products are very well designed.
We bought the Breville 10 years ago on ATK’s recommendation. It’s still going strong. We have also have gifted it twice.
Black & Decker used to make a model that you could attach to the under-the-cabinet, so it was off the countertop: the Spacemaker. We had one for 12 years and only stopped using it because we moved. It was fantastic for its design–from about 2002.
I grew up watching these people on America's Test Kitchen! Instead of watching Saturday morning cartoons, I'd watch all the cooking shows on PBS (I know, I was a weird kid). Glad to see they're going strong!
I have a Breville Smart oven, they probably ironed this out, but my oven began to just shut off mid cooking and some have said thermal fuse is issue, not sure about that, but it seems to happen more often than it should with people.
Recently found a NYT review of my beloved DeLonghi ( cira. 1986) I still use today. I'm only here because the 21 y.old let the pizza burn on the element. But I'm going to try & salvage my best yard sale find ever!💜
