  1. I have always used whatever was cheap or Trader Joe’s. I bought the simply organic one because I needed to get enough in my cart for delivery and I was SHOOCKED. It is filled with flavor and a beautiful scent and I had no idea my turmeric was suppose to be that way!

QUESTION: At a high-priced health food grocery store, I recently saw a product (I think it was tea or a latte mix, but honestly I can't remember) that boasted "activated turmeric" and included black pepper as the activating ingredient. What exactly does "activated" mean in this context? Is it for real, or just another bogus health claim that comes with an expensive price tag?
