  1. This would be more accurately tested if all the testers were going roughly the same speed or complete motions / minute. Side to side guy was going much faster than everybody else. Obviously it takes longer to do a figure 8 than a simple back and forth, but the winner was exerting noticeably more energy than the other testers.

  2. This video is pure click-bait, because ATK itself has posted another video (here: https://youtu.be/zglSRFlFH-s ) that provides a distinction between whisking egg whites & cream. (The latter is best with a lifting, circular motion.) Different principles involved. And oh, BTW – none other than Jacques Pepin, Julia Child, and others, will teach you those two difference, too – having learned from both masters, and a lifetime of cooking in great kitchens.
