I've owned one of these for about two years now. The learning curve is steep but it has definitely been fun. I've been wanting to cook a brisket since I got it, definitely looking forward to your brisket cook.
With the upcoming winter season I'd love to see some cold smoked salmon.
Cant wait to see more videos with this …. thing ? .. let's call it a grill lol… i wonder how itll compare to a true offset when it comes to smoking brisket… might be mt next grill
Could you do a chicken cordon bleu or a stuffed pork chop on this?
The 3,495 is USD, makes it a bit expensive for us Canadians, but loved the video and liking what the LSG can do
Did you consider the Smokeslinger?
With this style of grill, do you think that brickets would be a better choice than lump. If you were just using charcoal for a heat source. I'm thinking that it would give you more even heat when direct cooking.
Awesome possum. I’ve wanted that same grill for sometime. It’s the bees knees. Best wishes.
More videos with this grill please! This is awesome – you may have totally changed what type of pit I get next.
P.s. next time I think you should try using smaller splits. If you cut these in half you may have been happier.
Direct heat ribs for the entire cook
Once you get your cooking profiles dialed in on this cooker, it’ll be nice to see how this cooker compares to your Masterbuilt gravity series. Nice job!
You cannot beat LSG's I love my vertical smoker from them and have been looking at this particular grill as well.
Gooo Bills!! Great vid 🙂
This looks a lot like the German Grill from Wisconsin that was shown on Le Gourmet TV (now Glen and Friends Cooking)! I wanted to buy one of those but the company vanished 😞
Pizza? Hackable for rotisserie, or not really necessary? What temperature deltas do you see with the adjustable height?
Let me know when the US quits screwing Canada and I'll likely grab one but until then.. no $ goes to the USA.
Omg James now I really thinking on selling my kamado and putting some more money and buying this thats aqesome a long time ago I bought the kamado cuz of you and here we ho again 😂
Do you have any idea how much money you’re costing me? Arghhhhhh! 😂😂😂
This is the coolest grill ever. Ever since Ballistic BBQ got one, I have been sold, so great to see one in Canada. Was it a pain getting this across the border?
my lone star santa maria sure does eat a ton of wood. i live in eastern NC and in the dead of summer it is HOT, but in the winter it is great, fall through spring its awesome, the summer its doable but i dont use it as much in the summer.
ive been considering one of these for a while, been loving my lone star santa maria, its my favorite, never get rid of that thing.
Awesome!! I absolutely love both my LSG smoker & grill!! I so happy for your choice brotha!! LFG!!
Bbq, good job with that chicken it does look moist and juicy through the camera. regarding the smoker and direct cooking on this unit, can you do both at the same time. For example, could I have my brisket and ribs on one in cooking and on the other side crank up the direct for tomahawk steaks and such. I would also like to see you cook a whole pig on this barbecue too… this really looks like a good unit just trying to look at some other functionalities of it. Great job as always really enjoy watching your videos always get other tips and tricks watching you cook. And I should add. I am a Komodo Joe barbecue I do my smoking and direct cooking right off that union. almost ready to get a Sanria style barbecue but now that I’ve seen this well…..
I know all LSG grills/smokers have a lot of customization options…. I’ve checked it out on their site and don’t see any rotisserie ports/brackets…. Can this be done??
When you smoke the brisket are you gonna do top or bottom grate? I feel top grate would be better because of the way the smoke travels?
new toy on the shopping list now. please do some more videos on this one 🙂
should i replace my KJ with this? was considering buying the Big Joe, I have the classic 3 now. whats your opinion on that?
Show the versitility of the grill. Make a reverse sear Bavette (skirt or flank steak as its called in your country i think). Smoke it on low setting left burning cole and log, sitting the meat on the right. Then use the hight adjustment to sear it of. Love the gril is it sold in Europe? For me in person at catering or at home reverse searing flanksteak is way op there in the favorites.
Hey James – Thank you for the video. I am looking forward to the video on smoking a brisket on your new LSGACG. I have been a long time kamado user and had a tragic accident during a recent move. I am now in the market for a new smoker and was looking at the LSGACG prior to you putting this video out. Would you share a little more in depth your thoughts on possibly making a switch or would you advise sticking with what I have been happy with for over a decade? To be honest, I would love both but need to start somewhere. Prior to the accident, I had been already exploring offset smokers and the LSGACG appears very appealing. Thank you!
I wished I could get this in Dubai
love the shirt – rough game for our bench players last night.
Hasty Bake and Smokeslinger are good options too!
Can you do a video comparing this to a kamado. I have considered something like this against a kamado. Since they are both expensive I would realistically only get one.
Nice video like always I was wondering if look at the smokeslinger hot box it seem like it’s multi functional too
I prefer the el patron but it’s great
Yes, a great grill indeed! But the one I REALLY have my eye on is the LSG El Patron. Any insights on a comparison of the two?
My wife is going to hate you because now I have a new grill in my sights! As always, great job explaining and teaching. Love that you are having so much fun with cooking over fire and smoke!f. Cheers
looks like a grill that could be a family heirloom – nice !!! 2x the cost of the Chinese junk
So…what’s the final, total cost when fully spec’ed? Also, is there a rotisserie option?
Another great test review! I'm about to move across the country and rebuild my outdoor kitchen, and your channel is full of great info on the pros and cons on the many choices we have these days.
One thing I'd like to see on this grill is the ability to remove the divider and (maybe) use it as a horizontal heat divider to create a reverse-flow smoker. Some other similar grills have this, but are probably less flexible in other ways as a result. Probably a lot harder to build to this quality at this price, too.
Idea: for glazing those meats on the back, I wonder if a wash bottle (clipping the straw a bit) or a long-straw water bottle would help? I guess the simple method is to just use a BBQ mop, though.
I’d love to see a review of the Hast Bake. It’s an adjustable grill that’s been around for over 75 years, similar to this one. A comparison video would be awesome!
Great vid, as usual. Was considering a LSG, but went with Hasty Bake, the Legacy model, which is similar in its use, although not the same degree of overkill construction (I mean that in a good way). One thing was, could not actually see a LSG in person here in SoCal, whereas was able to see a HB. Love the Legacy….. But would love a LSG, as well…. The question becomes, how do I convince the wife that I nee another grill…….?
Santa Maria’s are very inefficient when it comes to fuel. After owning one. I rather have an enclosed
