DI ORO Seamless Series Pro Grade Silicone Spoon Spatula is the only spatula that works. Best thing I bought, Been using it for several years now.
Well, what a shame. It doesn't appear that Rubbermaid manufactures the 13-1/2" high heat scraper anymore.
I call BS on these Di Oros. They have a soft end of the handle where the loop is, making them useless for scraping. They look nice, but don't work.
As a person who used lots and lots of spatula there recommendation was so BS. The DI ORO – Large Silicone Spatula is so uncomfortable to use because it lacks the support at the handle so the spatula gets so wobbly and would never recommend it to anyone. my suggestion would be Vollrath 10", 13" High Heat Silicone Spatula. Do not let them fool you that's not a good spatula.
Apparently di oro has made a 14" large head spatula
Lisa is better
1:20 It depends on the diameter of the vessel you're using the spatula in. An angled blade is more comfortable when you have room to angle it (working in a large bowl, sauté pan, etc.), because you don't have to hold it perfectly vertical, thus you don't have to raise your arm quite as high. A flat blade is better when the space is tight – small saucepans, jars, etc. I wouldn't use the same size spatula in both situations anyway. Get a small, narrow spatula with a flat blade and a larger, wider spatula with an angled blade specifically for cooking.
The first time he picked up that black on for comparison I thought it would be the winner; the second time, it was obvious. My own favorite spatula is a Pyrex Professional from about 15 years ago; there are bites out of the edges from a guest tangling with a blender (I think), but I love it and despair of what happens when it is eventually unusable. It is the only spatula I've found with a great balance between flexibility and rigidity, and it has a super thin edge that is a DREAM to scrape batter out of bowls with. Now, it is flawed in that it is like spatula on the end in the video (see 1:47, a beat early so you can hear Adam's high pitched squeaky setup): it has a core with the ridges so dough doesn't scrape off of it so quickly, but I don't mind because that amazing edge scrapes my bowls clean the first time. Every other spatula I've bought has fallen short in that regard. I now have a utensil jar of spatulas I almost never use.
Can anyone tell me if that Rubbermaid scraper is as good as they say? I need a backup for Old Faithful, which was discontinued years ago before I realized I should pick up extras.
What is the price for the set
I bought that Dioro spatula based on the ATC review. I don’t really like it, because the blade is too firm and it doesn’t scrape as well as other silicone spatulas.
N=1, but I much preferred the long-form version of this ATK posted three years ago. The detailed explanation of the testing methodology was a lot more interesting than banter which feels very forced
Can you guys review wooden utensils? Maybe a set? It's like looking for a needle in a haystack finding a good set.
You didn’t even show the flexibility of most of the spatulas. This was worthless.
Every one of these new, fake-commeraderie ATC videos makes me miss good ol' Lisa McManus and her to-the-point/no-BS reviews all the more.
What about plastic spatulas that you use to flip food, like pancakes, in a pan?
I bought these based on the earlier review: my wooden spoons were due for replacement and I was looking at alternatives.
Overall I'm please with them, BUT the stainless steel spine inside has a drawback. When cooking dishes which need frequent stirring, I would leave a wooden spoon in the pot. Doing so with these silicon spatulas almost burnt my hand.
The metal spine still manages to heat up, and then holds its heat.
Yeeeeeeeeaaah!!
I notice that all the winners of these various products raise their prices from even a couple of months ago when this video was done.
I buy the 3rd one from the left on Aliexpress for less than a dollar delivered
Love these equipment testing videos, thanks
This isn't a new video, is it? I could have sworn I've seen them recommend this spatula before…
The winning spatula I got off amazon 3 years ago it didn't have the branding I chose after watchingva similar video on Americas test kitchen. BTW the honorable mention & last times winner wasn't in that video.
Not a new winner as you all recommended the same one in 2017. That's why I already have one!
Seamless is great for clean up.
I just use my hand.
I had purchased my oxo spatula based on a previous video you posted. Best. Spatula. Ever. It looks exactly like the black one you recommend in the video so maybe they rebranded? Either way, thank you for posting these videos!
It is $12.97 now.
Can you explain why when I cook bacon and use a silicone spatula I get a lot of foaming in the grease ?
I put the Di Oro spatulas on my wedding registry when I got married 2 years ago, they are hands down the best spatulas I've used and can't recommend them enough. It's nice not having to worry about crud getting stuck inbetween the handle and the head, the weight is just perfect, and they just do an outstanding job.
The le Creuset one is best! The other ones melt and aren't built to last!
What is your recommendation for a ridiculously small spatula?
First world problems…
Am I really the only one who hates using silicone spatulas because my brain screams cancer..
My spatula came from the Dollar Tree and it was made by Betty Crocker! Works great every time. Soft for folding and stirring. My other one is more firm for cooking and stirring. $11 bucks is just ridiculous!
I can never find a good quality hand towel or kitchen towel, you should do a review of the best of the best.
I have 2 favs… a Pyrex spatula similar to the winner and (I know this sounds crazy) an orange and lime color one from IKEA. It's super light weight and gets the job done.
Me before video: Normal person.
Me after video: Hi, I'm a silicone spatula expert. Nice to meet you.
The winner looks identical to ALDI products, which never fail to scrape every surface clean in my use
I don't get why this spatula continues to be recommended. That metal core is SO bendable. I can bend that spatula into a 90 degree angle in no time with not very stiff material. So much so that the three I have are almost unusable for more than just soft materials. The GIR spatula they tested but didn't reference is tough as nails. I can fold cookie dough no problem. The DiOro would be V-shaped in no time. I've been a subscriber for years and this is one of the only product reviews that I feel you get completely wrong.
Is there a video on best electric stoves -60/90 inches?
I like the cheap ones from IKEA. You size and feel is great for all-purpose use. They might not be the best, but 3 for the price of their winner.
