White guy here. Basmati has been my go to for the last few years, really since I started replicating his recipes.
Highly encourage my fellow hhhhwhite folk to venture out to dive into middle eastern & Mediterranean food. You’ll find yourself subbing ingredients in meals you’ve made hundreds of times lol
This is seriously the most perfect rice I've ever made. I've been using this video to make it for a year. Yes. I'm dense. Or maybe it's because I don't want to forget anything lol. But I'm Hispanic I should know this. However… my mom always used the rice cooker and I don't have one
The texture I make my rice depends on what I’m cooking. If I’m making breakfast (rice eggs and bacon) I prefer my rice softer . For meals where rice is the side , I like it more normal .
You can also use a chicken bouillon cube or a table spoon of similar powder instead of straight salt. It gives the rice a nice flavor. Also a few shakes of turmeric will give it a beautiful golden color.
Legends say the first comment gets pinned 😳

Japanese people don't use butter or oil. I lived in Japan for 5 years.
I just made this. And it works. Only gna make my rice this way now
This guy came in chopped!!
As you agitate the water?
Tysm! It helps so much
"packet instruction" No sabo energy 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Never, EVER listen to the package instructions. If it tells you to put 6 times more water than rice, do not do that if you want mashed potatoes.
I searched up rice ( Declan rice) and this guy pops up 🤣🤣
