  1. Fussy ATK nonsense…use a shallow cutting board to elevate the roller, or to elevate the knife and magnet to sharpen a slim blade. I have no complaints about the sharpness or ease of use from the Horl system. Definitely making mountains out of molehills for more clicks.

  2. It works if you use it right according to the instructions and not try to intuit the method of use like the people in this video. Also, only the Horl (the original, real one) is good. All the knockoffs use worse materials that are softer than your knife. The shavings you see using the cheap knockoffs are from the sharpener. You aren't even sharpening your blade. The worse is that the knockoffs can't hone at all. The honing portion is too soft to affect the metal. There have been videos and scientific breakdowns proving this with lab equipment. Only the original Horl has the specs necessary to sharpen a knife. Don't get fooled into buying cheap knockoffs people.

  3. I have the real version of this, the Horl, not the knockoff Tumblr. It works great. I'm not sure why she's rolling it like that. You don't roll it like a French rolling pin. You hold the center and push. The end are on bearings. For reaching the tip, you curve it in a bit and hits it just fine.
