Sweet Bread can be enjoyed for breakfast, brunch or after dinner with coffee, tea and good conversation. It’s my go to bread during Easter time. I hope you and your family enjoy it as much as mine.

Sweet Bread/Sally Lunn Bread
1 C. Milk (whole)
6 T. Unsalted Butter
1/4 C. Sugar
3 1/2 C. Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
1 1/2 t. Salt
1 T. Instant Dry Yeast
2 Large Eggs at Room Temperature

Combine milk, butter and sugar together in microwave safe bowl and heat until butter is just about melted. Let slightly cool and add to mixing bowl. Add in 2 C. Flour, salt, yeast and eggs. Beat for 3 minutes. Add remaining 1 1/2 C. flour. Mix/beat for 3 additional minutes. Cover dough and let rise for 45 minutes up to 1 hour or until dough has doubled in size. Roll out dough to 20 inches, spray spring form pan, or tube pan with non-stick spray or grease with butter. Coil around dough tucking the end edge under the dough. Cover and let rise a second time 45 minutes to 1-hour or until dough is doubled in size. Bake at 350 degrees, 30-35minutes until dough is golden brown. Let cool 40 minutes and brush with unsalted melted butter or cover with buttery vanilla glaze or serve glaze on the side.

Buttery Vanilla Glaze
1 T. Unsalted Butter melted, cooled
3/4 C. Confectioner’s Sugar (powder sugar)
Pinch of Salt about (1/8 t.)
1/8 t. Vanilla Extract
2-3 T. Half in Half

Honey Butter (recipe can be halved)
1 Stick (1/2 C. Unsalted butter softened)
2 T. Honey
1-2 pinches, or to taste of Kosher Salt or Sea Salt
Store in refrigerator, enjoy within 3-4 days.
