THE ULTIMATE IMMUNE BOOSTING SMOOTHIE
2 cups fresh spinach, roughly chopped
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 cups strawberries, hulled & chopped
1 banana, peeled & sliced
Optional: 2 Tbsp nut butter (We are using peanut butter.)
2 tsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp sugar (or sugar substitute)
8-ounces vanilla protein shake (or 2 scoops vanilla protein powder)
Optional: 1/2 – 1 cup ice
1. Place ingredients 1 -4 and 6 -8 into a high-powered blender. Ingredient number five, nut butter, and ingredient number nine, ice, are optional. Process on high speed for 1 -2 minutes until smooth. Serve immediately.
Full disclosure, I am not a medical professional. However, I consider this smoothie immune boosting because of its ingredients. Spinach has iron and folate. Yogurt has probiotics that help support your gut. Yogurt also contains healthy fat as does nut butter. Strawberries are high in vitamin C and bananas have potassium. Chia seeds are a natural source of zinc. The protein shake (or protein powder), as the name states, are a good source of protein. This nutrient-packed drink is nature in a glass.
