This easy protein packed recipe really hits the spot. #healthjourney #proteinrecipes #easyrecipe

If you’re craving comfort food but want to eat something high protein, I got you! This protein packed recipe really hits the spot when I want something yummy like lasagna. It also is a super easy recipe to make and a good way to use up extra veggies,

Ingredients:
1 Pound ground beef (96/4)
1 Jar Barilla Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce 24 oz. (I like to add in leftover veggies I have in my fridge)
10 oz Barilla Protein + Farfalle Pasta
4 Cups cottage cheese – fat free
5.3 oz container fat free Greek yogurt – plain
½ Cup parmesan cheese
1 ½ Cups mozzarella cheese – part skim
Italian seasoning
Red pepper flakes
Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions
1. Brown your meat (drain if not using a lean meat).
2. Soften any veggies you want to add in. Then mix in your pasta sauce and other optional seasonings. Cook that on low for around 5 minutes.
3. Cook and drain your noodles.
4. Mix together your cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, parmesan, 1 Cup mozzarella, and optional parsley, salt, or black pepper.
5. Add your cooked noodles into the bottom of your dish or pan, cheese mix on top of those, and your sauce mix on top of that.
6. Bake this on 350F/176C for 25 minutes and top with a leftover Mozzarella 5-10 minutes before it’s done.

One pan is 8 servings. Each serving is around 400 calories (based on your veggies you add) and 38 grams of protein.

  1. Are those legume noodles? If not, legume noodles such as chickpea or lentil have similar texture to wheat noodles but have more protein and fiber😊 just an idea. I love legume noodles because I am wheat intolerant but I also love fiber and protein because it slows the absorption of glucose into the body 😊
