Today I’m going to be sharing with you the easiest and most delicious beef stew, MY WAY!!! Now let me tell you just in case you dont know already, i like my food extra flavorful, just well seasoned, my beef stew is no exception, everyone that has tried it always compliments how DELICIOUS it is! TIP! Enjoy while how with sweet rolls! Add more beef broth for more of a soup consistency !

Ingredients:
3 lbs beef chuck roast (trimmed and cut into 1- 1 1/2 inch)
1/4 cup flour
1 tbsp dried Italian seasoning
2-2 1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika or chili powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 yellow onion;chopped
3 minced garlic cloves
4-5 cups low sodium beef broth
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 bay leafs
1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
3 celery sticks
4 carrots
3 medium sized yellow Idaho potatoes
1 cup peas(optional)
Chopped fresh parsley

  1. A Mexican graduate student in chemistry told me 40 years ago that his people used a lot of garlic powder and onion powder on meat. It's a good idea – the onion powder and garlic salt at Costco is a lot, but I have found the flavor is better. Tomato paste is tomato flavor, yes – but it also imbues things with a lot of richness. The Italian cookbook author Marcella Hazan added peas frequently – not so much for flavor but for that green color. With mashed potatoes, I might substitute for potatoes in the stew with a root vegetable – like parsnips or rutabagas – more nutrition, less carbs. Rutabagas, aka Swedish turnip, will look like potatoes but are chock full of vitamins.
