This Recipe Will Change How You Think of Canned Beans | Flavor Forward

Can canned beans be turned into an exciting meal? Nik Sharma says yes. Today, he’s making a romesco sauce that uses roasted bell peppers and tomatoes while adding Calabrian chiles for heat, and sliced almonds for texture. Instead of bread, he opts for canned cannellini beans, which provide starch to thicken the sauce. The result is the most exciting bite of beans you may ever have.

  1. Thank you for your feedback. In sponsored videos such as this, we only feature equipment that has been previously and independently reviewed by the ATK Reviews team, earning Recommended status or greater. Sponsorships never affect our testing results; the ATK Reviews team maintains its editorial independence. 2. Great recipe. BUT what's with the shilling for products during the video?? I appreciate ATK's product reviews, but apparently ATK is becoming more and more "commercial". I recall reading/hearing several yrs ago that ATK stated they didn't accept product donations in order to remain objective, like Consumer Reports. Those days seem to be over. AND when ATK staff say "you can find this and other recipes on our website", they never include "subscription required!"

  3. This new filming/script style already made it feel like an ad from the start and then it turned out it was actually an ad. Well, "unbiased reviews" looking for sponsors are simply not unbiased, even if there are "editorial/business standards". ATK has pushed away not only its charm but also its reliability. And, it is a pity because this new chef is great.

  4. Damn. There is some harshness out here. I learned some important things. Inspiration for something I already make, so thank you, Chef. Seriously. You have zero control on ads, subscriptions, or anything of that kind. I don't think we, the viewing public, should bother the creative department with that. Take that to Corporate? Marketing? I would recommend customer service, but no company in america has that dept. Not anymore.

  5. We knew change was coming once ATK was sold to a holding company. Now the change is here: paid sponsorships. You can swear up and down that it won't affect reviews but people won't 100% believe that. There will always be doubt. The solid reputation of impartiality was one of ATK's most valuable assets and Marquee Brands stupidly threw it away chasing short term profits.

  6. I'm so disappointed. For years I pay for the annual membership to your site. I also pay for You-Tube premium. I still get an ad shoved at me. You've always bragged about being ad free.
    What a betrayal.
