  1. Sorry ATK, incorrect – the best spatula all round is made by iSi BASICS, (they never seem to get mentioned?) Shape, feel, functionality, ease of washing, all A+, – my first one lasted about ten years, ( I gave it to my neighbor, who raved about it being the best spatula she had ever used) – my new one cost about $10. [Direct from iSi], (I also bought the narrower, bottle spatula, – another winner!) I challenge anyone to beat it!

  2. Loved the vid. Not sure what everyone is arguing about,.. Original vid vs. this one, or whatever. But you guys need to realize that ATK has been through some major upheaval in recent times. Chris Kimball is gone, and has his own show now called Milk Street. I suppose the crew at ATK is going through a bit if an adjustment phase. ATK is an amazing show the that has major appeal to most true cooks out there, and we now have Milk Street as well. The ladies at ATK are great. So is Chris.

  3. I vastly prefer the old style of equipment review that is much more thorough. Even with mundane equipment like a spatula, it's nice to have more details that lead to one spatula over the other.

Love ATK, and still enjoyed this video just giving some feedback.

  4. I can confirm that the winning spatula is indeed the best I've ever used. I cook primarily with Cast Iron and it's tough on a spatula… but I loved the di oro spatula so much I bought all the others. it's able to maintain without ripped up like most spatulas I use after a long while of cooking on Cast Iron. Definitely worth your money.

  5. I highly prefer the style of the original video https://youtu.be/k_dddKEiPHE

    1. The title of this video is very “click baity”, you cannot claim that my cooking will improve by buying this spatula. The previous title was straightforward without infomercial-like claims.

    2. The depth of testing was more thoroughly explained in the original. I understanding that maybe you want a shorter video, but this is youtube, we can skip to end if we need.

  6. I bought that dioro spatula on ATK's recommendation, and it's terrible. the weighted head feels heavy and artificial, but much worse–the metal core is thin and overly flexible, so much so that just the act of gently mashing soft cooked beans against the bottom of a pot caused the spatula to bend into and stay in a U shape. I got a refund. I strongly recommend starpack products for silicone cookware needs instead (also an ATK recommendation, actually).

  7. I put that spatula and its sister varieties on my wedding registry last year, definitely the best spatulas I have ever used hands-down. They feel just absolutely amazing in your hand and are just the perfect amount of flexible to stiffness. I can't recommend them enough.

(And those metal mixing bowls you guys recommended too! I thought I would want Pyrex ones, now I can't see myself lugging around those heavy bowls if ever in the future)
