We put two premium grills head-to-head in the ultimate steak showdown: the Crossray eXtreme Electric Infrared BBQ vs the Napoleon Prestige PRO Gas Grill. 🔥
We seared steaks—one on the Crossray infrared system (no flames, just powerful infrared heat) and two on a traditional high-end gas grill. Then, we put both steaks through a blind taste test to see if we could actually tell the difference.
Can infrared really deliver the same (or better) sear and flavor than a traditional flame grill? Or is the classic gas setup still king?

I bought the new Napoleon 500 from you guys a month ago. The infrared side burner is amazing. It takes a few practice runs to figure out how to use it, but man does it create a beautiful sear. Thanks for the recommendation videos as I would have never even known about the Napoleon without them. Last night I used the rotisserie for the first time with a chicken on the spit and potatoes peppers and onions in a pan under it. My god it was delicious! Thanks!!
I’ve got them all. You just can’t beat the taste of wood or charcoal If you have the time.
Cleaning that electric grill looks horrible! But if it's the only option when living in a high-rise condo or apartment that doesn't allow a gas or charcoal grill, I would get it. I'm sure you would learn how to cook everything to perfection the more you use it.
If it’s that close… what does it matter.
