The Ultimate review of the Weber Summit Charcoal Grill / Grilling Center. This is everything I know about this kamado style grill after 1 year of heavy use. It’s not perfect, but it’s VERY good. Maybe the best. Hope it helps you with your shopping.

Great well organized informative knowledgeable video!
I feel like the summit charcoal grill is really over priced. When I look at it I just don’t see a 2.2k grill.
Hey man, love the videos u make! I have a question, where did you get the cast iron grating?
Thanks!
Being that the years have passed would you still recommend this grill? I have been looking at this product since you put this video out and still have not gotten one. I have a few kettles, a WSM 22” and a Z Grill which I actually like a lot after not wanting to use a pellet grill in the past haha.
But I was thinking about getting a kamado and figured you would be a good one to ask
Пользуюсь Е6 у 2 года. Никакой утечки дыма нет. Этот гриль однозначно лучше керамических.
Solid review. First time coming across your channel. Great job.
One of the biggest selling points on the Summit was the deflector shield…and they went and changed it. Crap.
I have my Summit delivered last week. I used it for the first time this weekend. After the first use, I cleaned up the ashes with one touch. Then I noticed that metal wings from the one touch system did actually scratch the enamel. Have you spotted if the one touch system scratches the bowl in your Summit?
What’s up Justin do you still recommend the Weber Kamado?
Can I share my something…?….I love bar b que…..I have a charcoal grill…simply a box….and some skewers…….I always wanted a weber kettle grill…..without having seen one in front of my eyes….I knew it is for me….and I m sure I 'll master it…..I hope may be someday I 'll visit my brother in UK…and get one……Fortunately a weber showroom was opened in New Delhi…..I planned to buy one and started Saving some money every month…..( m a poor man…)….now this showroom is closed…..like Harley Davidson…..in New Delhi…….long story short…..it is not a problem….if a little smoke is coming out…….😊😊😊
Wich charcoal basket fits best on the Summit? Do you have any recommendations?
So the 26” slow n sear xl fits the 24” summit?
That is a ton of valuable input thanks
Thank you for share your experience , the problem with mine is a little smoke leak through the temperature clock, I would like to watch of how to clean the summit properly, mostly inside the top dome, regards !
Great compact size for small patio
I have the Weber Summit charcoal grill center now for 5 years, absolutely still love it, I would recommand the rotisserie from spit on fire, the weber wok, weber sear grate, weber pizza stone, a dutch oven , cast iron pan, a griddle, a perforated meat / veggie tray, the weber connect thermometer, thermopen mk4 or one. And still following your channel Justin.
is this a 24 in?
that track sucks
Thanks for this review! Ive been hoping for this. I have a BJ3 and its so heavy i hate rolling it outside to cook and frankly its so efficient i dont get as much flavor as id like. Really been thinking bout this one
9:28 had me howling X^D
Designed to leak! 😂 I was going to buy this too
Good information, thank you.
This was the review that gave me all the answers I needed to pull the trigger on my Summit Kamado! I absolutely love it too! Thanks for your work!
I would like to see you cook/smoke a whole turkey on the summit
I’ve had mine for almost 2 years and it’s just a great all in one grill. Bought it to replace a pit boss pellet grill. The Weber is just better. Loaded it with charcoal and did an overnight brisket that came out fantastic. Smoked some chicken and sausage the next afternoon while the brisket rested and never had to add additional charcoal (15-18 hour cook). Great smoker for ribs. 3 racks will easily fit. Reverse seared tomahawk ribeyes for New Years…. Perfect! Used the griddle insert for smash burgers, worked great but wish it was a bigger griddle insert. Good for pizzas if you use a pizza stone. Easy to maintain temperature during a smoke. I see people using charcoal chimney’s to start the charcoal but I just use the propane bottle. Super easy and the bottle last a long time. It’s not as efficient on charcoal as a kamodo but it efficient enough to smoke a large brisket or pork butt without adding charcoal. Cleanup is beyond easy. Just remove the bottom charcoal bucket and dump it in the trash.
I would buy the Weber Summit but I want them to fix your smoke leak, also I hate the kindergarten looking plastic wheels.
I love your videos
Just rewatched this. I’m leaning toward getting a Summit E6. I got a little sad at the end. “He’s going to be around for a while.” at the 22:15 mark.

I have watched both of your videos re: Weber Summit Kamado. I really like the Summit, and maybe one day I'll have one subsequent to what I have learned on your channel. I had narrowed my choice of ceramics down to Big Joe. Your info regarding ceramic vs the Summit made valuable points — one of which I already took into consideration: A Summit isn't going to crack. And, it's much lighter and easier to manage. In your "1 year" video, you mentioned the Weber Smokey Mountain smokers and I gained a bit more judicial insight. I acquired a used WSM 18 as "best all around" of the three, then I scooped a used-one-time WSM 14 for small cooks. I figured that would hold me, since I do my grilling/cooking on my Weber propane grill, which I need to upgrade to a larger one with a sear zone. Your references regarding kettle vs Summit and lots of other info kinda blended in my head, and I realized that I really don't want to "cook" on charcoal. It's nice; it's fun, but gas is much simpler and easier for lots of reasons. So, when I get to the point of smoking full briskets (yes, I know you can drape them to make them fit in an 18"), I'll probably look around and find a lightly used WSM 22 to complete the set. I think in the long run, I'll do better with dedicated purpose-built smokers and a nice, big grill hooked to natural gas. That way, I can stage brisket, butts or ribs, chicken, and sausage across the three smokers for a big chow-down. I believe in purpose-specific tools, so burgers are on the griddle, steaks on the grill and so on. Thanks for all your detailed info and comparative input. It has helped me be honest with myself in determining what I really need in order to do what I want to do — much like my process with cast iron, carbon steel and stainless steel cookware. Certain tools for certain jobs. Thank you for your time, effort and insight. 🙂
Haven’t seen many detailed reviews on the Kamado. Been owning one for less than 6 months now. Noticed the enamel coating inside the bowl may have a defect that coating is now burning through and bottom is chipping… not sure if you encountered this.
Had mine delivered from ACE today – brand new. Got to putting on the hinge, but the hinge had no springs. Thanks Webber – guess I am not making a turkey on my new $2149 grill on Thanksgiving. What a joke.
I just got my weber performer premium today, over one month after I paid for and ordered it.
I ordered the Performer and a cover at the same time, got the cover in less than a week, bjut nothing from weber about the BBQ.
Long story short, they lost it and if I hadn't contacted them they would have assumed I received it. This went on for over a month.
Weber Australia are terrible for customer service, really has soured my opinion of the brand.
