Got Guanciale?
These 4 dishes are a perfect example of how adding or swapping just ONE ingredient can completely change a dish. With that in mind, while it’s ok to swap bacon or pancetta for the more traditional guanciale, just know that you are tasting a different dish. Still tasty, just different.
To help more people get access to these harder to find ingredients, I actually reached out to the Italian shop where I’ve been buying my smoked guanciale for several years now. They are a small business located in Northern California, and they are truly passionate about sharing Italian food and culture with others.
They were so excited to help that they offered to set up a free gift for all orders that use the code TRIGGTUBE at checkout. So if you want to give these dishes a try for yourself and taste them just like they are made in Rome, please go to www.DonatoOnlineStore.com and use the code TRIGGTUBE for a free gift with every order.
Oh yeah… and follow me for the full recipes and tips which I’ll be posting as part of an upcoming series.

Yup. Pasta is pretty much all the same. That's why it's totally overrated.

Solo guanciale…NO BACON. A Roma
Even using bacon instead of guanciale? It tasted AMAZING i cant wait to try it with the real stuff
Making italy proud
People always try to not go with the basic pick, but the truth is carbonara is simply the best
Bro thought he could say “karbohnara” instead of “Carbonara” and we wouldn’t notice
name origins:
"Cacio e pepe" just means cheese and pepper
"Gricia" comes from "Gricio", which is someone selling food from the Swiss Grisons
"Carbonara" ;The recipe and name is most likely from when WWII american soldiers tried the "Cacio e ova" (which means cheese and eggs) from Abruzzo made by charcoal burners (Carbonai)
"Amatriciana" comes from Amatrice, and the people from that city went to Rome and were really good at making food
I thought the fourth one is Bolognese 😅
An American that’s looked it up … can’t stop laughing and effin pathetic … instead of listenin to a prick talking shite ….. just either go there or look it up …. Totally pathetic !!!
When to Roma for new years eve, and had exactly the 4 of them during the week we spent there.
Alla gricia is my favorite, and that was the first time I ever heard that name 😀
His Italian pronunciations are surprisingly good for an American
carbonara is NOT a roman dish
Mac and Cheese literally is Italian, just American ingredients
Next time drop the filter, dude.
Tomato paste makes everything better
Simply perfectly correct. ❤
Italians really do take their pasta seriously. Adding lardons to a dish makes it an entirely different recipe in their eyes XD
I shower in cacio e pepe
Bolognese
Definitely no butter or cream in any… & no garlic…
I'll catch a lot of merda for adding sauteed chopped cipolla…
Garlic is for aglio e olio…. But that is Neapolitan.
