  1. It’s blasphemous, I know, but I virtually always microwave my bacon. I do it on a ceramic plate, and don’t cook it til totally crisp, and it takes great. And I also look for Wright brand bacon. Not cheap, but consistently high quality and a good ratio of meat to fat.

  2. I barely hear the beep because I can barely hear you Dan, so I have to turn the volume way up. They need to fix your mic please. The other ATK videos are fine, it's just these where the audio is off. That said, I love what you do. And I agree with you about thin bacon. I'm convinced that people have just become kind of snobbish about it, thinking that it makes them more refined, or high-falutin foodies, by eating thick cut bacon. It not only takes too long to cook but is also more tough than crisp, so it's usually too chewy, and that's especially bad when using it in a sandwich or burger. Thanks.

  3. It's hard to beat Jimmy Dean precooked bacon, just heat and serve! Plus, as Jack can tell you, it doesn't oxidize as much, so it doesn't develope those "off" flavors. And you "cook" it in paper towels, so, no messy clean up!

  4. I grew up eating beef bacon (religious taboo against pork). Beef bacon is good, but hard to find. I don't care for turkey "bacon". I really like Hormel's thick cut (pork) bacon, and it works well to bake it in the oven or pan fry it. I used to like the crisper, thinner pieces, but have acquired a preference for the thick cut, barely crisped way.

  5. I find the best bacon is either the thick cut slices or European style slices at the deli counter. Also, I know so many people will disagree, but I find cooking bacon in the microwave to be the quickest, easiest, and provides for the easiest cleanup method. For a while I was using the Nordicware microwave bacon tray. However, even that was a pain to clean up on its own. Now, I take a paper takeaway container (white clamshell) that I get at the restaurant supply store. I lay the bacon on the tray so that the middle of the container has the middle section of the bacon. I then take a paper towel and wrap the container so that it bends the clamshell container in half. I then take the clamshell container and put it on the Nordicware microwave cooker so that it looks like a tent. Put it into the microwave for (usually) 6 – 6.5 minutes. Perfect bacon every time. You do have to be careful removing the tray from the microwave because it pools in the clamshell container. Unfortunately, I can only do about 4-5 piece of bacon at a time using this method. But seriously. This provides great results and is super easy to cleanup.

  6. Great video… Great comments.
I would add, we bake bacon and we have several white "work out" towels that we use to drain bacon on (and cover). And it does an amazing job of making it not greasy. Gather, and serve in a solo cup…. Awesome!

  7. Not that this one person matters Dan but I'm going to unsubscribe from this Channel and not watch any more of the videos that you guys produce until you stop filming in the room where that beep is going off thank you

  8. I love to cook it between two sheets of paper towels. or three or four I absorb all that oil and it's absolutely crispy. which I like crispy thin 🥓 cuz I want to crumble it up over things you know like carbonara or soups or salads I once in awhile but we did a BLT but not often
