  1. How can you say that the origin of bowl food in America is Chipotle? Japanee and Korean restaurants have been serving menu items that placed the notion of bowls in the forefront. Though not famous or trendy, Yoshinoya has been in operation in America since the 70s. A restaurant that focused on bowl meals with a logo of a bowl has been around decades before the bowls were trendy. This is why these guys are not real writers or journalists; they are no more than superficial trend chasers.

  2. thank you again for posting your podcast here. I enjoy the history lessons. and I can put this on and finish the dishes or clean the bathroom without missing a visual. atk has always been, for me, about the history, science and techniques of cooking. this is just one more way to get that. without having to watch. YouTube is and has always been more than just visual. ppl putting limits on this channel are limiting the way other ppl obtain information. if you dont like this format just don't click. many of us save these 'videos' for times we need just audio.

  3. I prefer burritos – they are portable and you eat the "wrapper". I like a super grande al pastor with black beans, brown rice, and extra sour cream and guacamole. Bonus points if it's then deep fried into a chimichanga. That and a bottle of Negra Modelo (or two) is the best after-surf chow-down. Gone in 60 (x5) seconds…

  4. This was the stupidist thing I didn't finish listening to… BOWLS have been used by Chinese, Koreans, Japanese and Vietnamese with Ramen, Pho, Chinese rice dishes… for hundreds of years, come on ppl, get with the times !!!

  5. 1 more video like this and I unsubscribe. This is YouTube and there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to hear about food from a food channel and not see food. There is "Tasty", "BBQ pit boys", and too many other choices to watch this crap.

  6. Hey, how about adding a qualifier of ________ bowls for the western world? Japanese have donburi and Southern China has clay pot rice. It’s not a goddamned trend – y’all just ruined it with tasteless colonizer crap.

Not only that but Patton Oswalt’s “sadness bowl” bit was literally the piece that got him his gig as Remy the Rat in “Ratatouille.”

I don’t trust Harry’s mom – she’s a sour old White lady that doesn’t like food touching each other.

  7. Much ado about nothing. It's convenient for a lot of folks, easy to assemble, and I think the people who say they all taste the same need to check their tastebuds, go eat someplace else, or reprioritize their life. Burritos, sandwiches, pizza, and many foods combine flavors for a great harmony. Food bowls are no different.

  8. So you posted a podcast as a youtube video? If I wanted to stare at a single image and listen to someone drone on, I would download a podcast. Why don't you broadcast this on a tv network while you're at it? This is so stupid, know your medium. I'm about to unsubscribe from this channel altogether this is so annoying.

  9. This is not a big deal, or New in any way. The Japanese have hundreds of "Donburi", bowls of rice topped with many different ingredients, and a sauce of some kind. The Japanese have shortened it to simply "..don" katsuDON, oyakuDON, and countless others. Silly to even think about. it.And for the record, I prefer salad on a plate…

  10. This was delightful! I'm going to see if there are more. I've been subscribed but will look especially for 'Proof' episodes. I love your show. But nine out of ten times end up just listening anyway because of an active brain….lol. Gotta do while I listen. So this is a perfect combination for me. Thanks much for this show!
