Guittard milk chocolate is my go to, ideally the baking wafers. Haven't had anything close.
I like many of Ghirardelli's chocolate bars and truffles. (I like their's better than Godiva's chocolates.)
I haven't made chocolate chip cookies for years, so I have no favorite brand now.
When I was makine cookies,
one of my top favorites was oatmeal raisin chocolate chip.

Best is a combo of dark, semi, and milk of Guittard and Ghirardelli.
I tend to use a mix of the 60% Ghiradelli chips with the 72% Ghiradelli chips (which are not rated for some reason)

I appreciate the points on shape! Recently Ive been baking with Aldi specially selected Belgian semi chunks. 😋
I exclusively use the Ghirardelli 60% myself and both the baking chips and the bar form for various desserts. I know there's better chocolate out there but for day to day applications you can't beat them, they're hands down the best for those.

Yay!!! Great to see Ashley! I haven't seen you a bit! Glad for this test! I use minis for cookies because I hated a mouthful unbalanced chocolate/dough ratio.
Here in Canada, I use the 70% Chipits chunks, as that is the most accessible, but I do find i run into the issue mentioned of uneven distribution.
I think I can get Ghiradelli if I hunt for it, so I'm going to try that next time I get chocolate chips!!
I think I'll always keep my copy of Anachrony. It's such a unique theme and a great blend of mechanisms. And people always see that box and ask to play it. I love Le Havre too, but it's a tough sell when trying to get people to agree on a game.

I often mix the Ghirardelli 60% with the G semisweet for a nice balance.
I buy Endangered Species 88% Cacao bars and chop them and make cookies 🙂 I think we like different things.
